Fantastic Fan

I have owned this fan for 8 years, it still works the exact same as the day I purchased it. Very good fan and blows cool air. A/C went out in office today and I turned this thing on high and it kept the room cool. I would recommend this fan to anyone.
Pros: Durable, Good Power Output, Stable Base

Bought this after having great success with two others

I purchased this unit after my last two lasted 5 years each (using them nearly every day of the year!) My concern is that this on is starting to lose power after a couple of months. Thank you for asking
Pros: Compact, Easy to install, Great speed settings, Lightweight, Quiet

I think my Vornado 630 is about 4 years old and runs as smoothly and quietly as ever.
As you can tell from my pic, Sammy, my Corgi, just LIVES in the wake of the Vornado. He'd give you "5 Tails Up"...if he HAD one.

This is a classic Vornado fan and performs as expected, moving lots of air quietly. It has a familiar design we know from these fans.
What I don't like is the power control knob is small and fussy. If you have dexterity issues or arthritis I could see its size being an accessibility issue. It actually feels flimsy and I'm worried will break off in the future.
Also the power cord is a few feet shorter than that on an older "small" Vornado fan that I used to own. This makes it harder to position in a room.
I'm actually considering returning this fan for an upgraded model for these reasons.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the best fan I have ever had. I had trouble trying to clean it, as the fan is two years old. The swivel broke on one side. This company replaced it no questions asked which is unbelievable. They are a local company here in Kansas and completely stood behind their product.

Great fan …. Except for ONE thing!

I bought a Vornado 630 to help circulate the air in our motorhome and even though I balked at the price in the beginning, it turned out to be an excellent fan. I then decided I wanted a second unit for the house (beside the bed), but bought a look-alike (Honeywell) instead. Big mistake. Just because it looks the same, doesn’t mean it works the same. The Vornado is far superior regarding air movement, plus the motor on the Honeywell went out within a short time. I replaced it with another Vornado 630 and both my units still work like new even though they are both heavily used.
The negative? The switch is in the most awkward and aggravating position imaginable. The far inferior Honeywell had the switch located on the top where it was easily accessible. The Vornado switch is positioned on the base, behind the fan at an extremely awkward angle and partially blocked by the fan body. I love the fan, but curse the switch every time I use it! Add the fact I have arthritis in my hands, it gets doubly frustrating. Every time I have to operate the switch, I tell the wife if I ever got to meet the Engineer who designed it, I’d …. well, it’s not really fit to print! :(
Beautifully efficient fan that is worth the extra money, but has the dumbest switch design known to man!

Compact yet mighty

I love this fan so much that I bought two of them and I've had them both for over three years now. Initially, I had a tough time convincing my wife that we needed one, because they appear to be quite expensive for what they are. However, once she experienced the 630, she became a believer and we now own quite a few other Vornado products as well. The 630 has a very small footprint for such a powerful fan, it moves a ton of air even at the low setting. The 630 makes our A/C MUCH more efficient. Now, we keep the AC set to a much higher temp in the summer, usually around 78 and the room stays surprisingly comfortable! We usually run the low setting at night, as the 630 works as both a low-level white noise machine and keeps the air in the room from getting stuffy. The mid setting is fantastic for general use when the windows are open, freshening the house in minutes instead of hours. The high setting is fantastic for drying mopped floors or airing out the bathroom after using harsh cleaners; what used to take forever in these humid environments the 630 does in minutes. Would I buy another one? Absolutely. Would I recommend one to a friend? Without hesitation and with great enthusiasm.
