I recently bought a 530 and I liked it because it was a little fan that moved A LOT of air, so I bought this 630 thinking it would move more air since it is larger. This is not true because the blades spin much slower on max setting than compared to the 530.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought 1 unit in hopes it would help circulate the cooled air from a window A/C in the small old house I have. AC unit coud not blow cool air the 30 feet into the living room. A pedestal fan I bought helped some but fell short of my expectations. I plugged in the 630 and set it about 7 feet from AC. Wow! Within minutes you could feel the cool air in the LR. The unit was also quieter than the pedestal. After running the system for 24 hours, I was thoroughly impressed with the units performance....so I went out and bought another one for the Master Bedroom. Although the AC unit in the MB worked ok, addition of the 630 circulated the cool air faster and more evenly. I am very impressed with the 630 and intend to purchase a tower fan in the near term. CONS: This is more of a "nice to have" suggestion as I would have liked even thge 630 to have a remote control.

I picked this fan up to replace a box fan that was moving air from my bedroom into my living room. I was surprised by the performance (It moved more cool air into my living room than the box fan did,) and how quiet the fan was. On low, I would forget that it was even running. I have since moved and the fan came with, I still use it in the same way.

Excellent Whole-Room Fan

This is probably the MOST versatile Vornado I own.. and I have 8 of their products. I love that fact that it's quiet for being on a Medium speed. I moved a TON of air for the size of the device. Simply, the BEST Fan on the market. I've used it outdoors, indoors, at night, daytime etc. It's perfect for keeping your space cool, OR warm in the winters went you need to circulate the uneven heat in your home.
Pros: Compact, Easy to install, Great speed settings, Lightweight, Quiet, Versatile

Living in one of the world's most humid countries is no joke! As much as I'd like to keep the A/C on the whole day, more economical measures are required. Turn off the A/C, cool down the room, then turn off the A/C, all the while letting the Vornado do its job. Whisper quiet on the lowest setting, slightly on the loud side when on the highest setting. The Vornado 630 certainly is well built, the parts don't feel cheap at all. I've got small kids, so those large, metal bladed industrial types don't really appeal to me. The 630's grill certainly does a great job of keeping my childrens' fingers where they should be: on their hands! One minor gripe, though. Vornado's distributor in the Philippines only has a 1 year warranty on it. If it breaks down after that, I'm thinking I better buy another one. Does the job, looks great. Thanks Vornado!

Had this one for several years, used it at home, but found better use at work. I sit at a high-top counter all day, and there was no space for a fan on the desk. Had a cheap on the floor, but after one year of use, it burned out. Swapped it with this one, and use it nearly every day year round. Wish high speed was a bit quieter, but it a worthwhile trade-off for the incredible amount of air it moves. Wonderful product.

Three and two years ago I bought some of the 630s and they really get the air moving. They are well made with quality and the plastics are solid materials. Low speed is not whipser quiet. On low a deep whooshing sound is made and it is loud a little. If it was quieter like the 530 on low speed that would be good. Other than that they are fantastic fans and I like them and am happy with mine!.

I was undecided for long if investing so much in a fan when most fans aren't built to last, but we're in the middle of rain season and the heat was taking a toll on my orchids. I paired a vornado with a thermo cube outlet and it's amazing, feels cooler inside even if outside feels unbearable. I'm considering switching from air conditioner to two vornados controlled by the thermocube.
