Eventually got to working state

After getting one of these washers in early September we discovered that a major part of the machine had been inoperable from day one. It made incredibly loud noises during the wash cycle and moved around wildly in the laundry room. It was only the part that controlled the spin cycle so all clothing was wrapped around the agitator. Our dealer first tried to fix that defective unit but it didn't get fixed. We got a replacement model and found it only had a few inches of water during the wash cycle so most of the clothes didn't even get wet. After the repairman looked at machine #2 he determined that we needed to use the fabric softener cycle, even though we didn't use fabric softener, to encourage the washer to fill with the correct amount of water. Since then it was worked OK. This wouldn't be my first choice for a washer but at least it doesn't leak oil on the clothes like the old GE model did.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had this washer for a couple of months now and my family and I absolutely love it. Washes quickly, quietly & gets the job done w/o problems!!

DRAIN & SPIN

I purchased this hotpoint washing machine just 4 months ago. Didn't want anything fancy just the basic machine; however, basic my problem with having to use the drain/spin cycle now two to four times a cycle is very frustrating! Please do your research before buying this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
