I Had to Keep Checking....

When we bought the house we are currently living in a couple of years ago, we sort of "inherited," shall I say, two "vintage" machines in the cellar, a washer and a dryer, and when I thoroughly cleaned them out and tested them, they did indeed work, but the washing machine literally shook the house while spinning water out of the clothes. The machines were not level, and as much as we tried to correct that, the washing machine would make such a racket that the ongoing joke around here, when it was on, was that our house was "possessed." Needless to say, we began looking for replacements. We now have two GE Hotpoint machines in their place, and level, I should add. And they are SO darn quiet when running that I had to keep running downstairs when we first got them, just to check if they were actually working!!
Thanks, GE, for making our house MUCH quieter! And, they are both energy-savers, too, so we feel like we're doing our bit for the environment. Purchased from a local dealer, we were told these are "reliable, sturdy" products, and I will add the adjective "very quiet."
I would recommend this to a friend!

Basic is Good!

Just got the washer installed today. Although I have done only 2 loads of clothes so far, I am satisfied at this point. I wanted just a basic no-frills washer to replace the basic washer I had for 8 years. This washer is much quieter than what I had previously and has a large washer tub for holding a large amount of clothes. No bells and whistles makes me very pleased.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Really like the features and operation of the machine until it broke 3 days before family coming to stay with us. It only lasted 6 months and now will not spin.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good washer

We just replaced our top-loader washing machine with a new Hotpoint HTWP1400. It is quiet and does the job, and is twice as efficient as our previous washer. It has all the controls we need without unnecessary features. And the price is right.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As a appliance technician for the past 20 years I have worked on and seen what is being manufactured by the major appliance companies. I consider GE to be the safe bet.
