Quiet and powerful!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would have rated this a 5 Star except the disposal is loud when running. I was very disappointed as my kitchen is in an open area and all the reviews that I read talked about how amazingly quiet this particular disposal is. I had it installed by a licensed plumber. Not sure why mine is so loud. Other than that, I love the features and so far, it works great.

Great KitchenAid Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace the builder-grade InSinkerator disposal which had vibrated and jammed so much that it was leaking and rusty in less than 2 years of owning our new home. It was a long wait during the pandemic for availability, but it was well worth it. New KitchenAid disposer is very quiet and works quickly. Had purchased this disposer for our previous home to replace a poor quality builder model, so we knew the quality would be worth the wait!

I live alone and use a disposal maybe once a day, if at all. Have never pushed this unit, have avoided bones and any other hard to grind material (lemon peels, etc.). The unit worked fine for a few years but then started jamming.I spin the unit using a hex wrench to free, the odd thing is it will be in a working state and the next day, inexplicably, it will be jammed (stuck may be a better description). The unit will be very hard to spin with the hex wrench as if it was rusted and I'll work it until it spins easily and it functions. But the cycle starts over. Pretty disappointing, I have other fine Kitchenaid products that are excellent.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Garbage Disposal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great garbage disposal with plenty of power. All of my past disposals have been 1/2 HP and have been adequate. This unit has the power to chew up a sink full with minimal effort. Been very happy in the past with our Kitchen And products.
