So quiet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about two months ago. Is working great. It is so quiet compared to the older generations - you wonder if it's working! It does. A good quality disposal is a must. I recommend.

Great product except for one feature.

I replaced my old Kitchen Aid unit from 1999 that was still working great, but since I was replacing my Kitchen Aid Dishwasher I decided to replace the Disposer at the same time since it was 14 years old. The only problem is that the new unit won't allow food waste to enter the disposer without manually forcing it in. It even restricts the flow of water into the disposer. Without the Sink Baffle water flows great, with it installed it's a definite barrier to both food scraps and water. I have resorted to cutting the sink baffle with scissors to allow it to open up and let food & water easier access to the interior of the disposer.
Pros: Very quiet
Cons: sink baffle acts as a restrictor
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this disposal about 5 months ago for a complete kitchen remodel that we were going through.
After searching different home improvement stores and getting very frustrated with the selection they offered, I decided to check the internet and found this Kitchen Aid disposal.
I read numerous reviews and decided to purchase this disposal. Very glad I did. It was everything that I could want in a quality disposal. It is quite, very efficient and easy to install and excellent quality.
I feel I made a great decision in purchasing this item and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great addition to their kitchen appliances.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice and quiet. Replaced rusting disposer that was not working properly. Don't know why people don't pay just a little extra to get stainless steel. Also like that the collar is removable & replaceable.
