Replaced old electric cooktop with the new induction cooktop when moving into newly-purchased home. Had induction in previous home, and all the induction cookware, so preferred staying with it.

Better than gas.

I bought the cook top about 3 months ago, and I haven't regretted it for a moment. My wife, who hates to cook, will on occasion use it. The temp control is just like gas, it heats up fast just like gas, and it stops cooking once you lower the temp - just like gas. If there was one item I would change is that the heating eyes are hard to see. I would make them stand out a little more.

Don't worry if you hear a humming when its on high, that's normal. Love the timer, love that there is an option to lock the controls yet still be able to use the timer. It works just like a gas stove if not faster boil time!! Excellent stovetop, don't buy anything else. I have owned a gas stove, electric stovetop, and this buy far is the best!

I love love it! Water comes to a boil quickly, food cooks evenly. No worries about touching a hot surface when burners are off. Very easy to clean. Look greats and compliments my kitchen! A great product. Couldn't be happier with my choice.

cooks like gas without the flame!

I wanted a GE Product in my remodeled kitchen because a GE Refrigerator that my Parents bought in 1940 is still going strong even though it has never needed a repair!! I enjoy using this induction type, sleek looking, easy to clean cooktop. It accommodates 5 pots/pans and cooks with the responsiveness of gas but is much safer to use because there is no open flame and there are no knobs to clean around. When I am not cooking on it, it can be used as additional counter space. I am hoping my 2009 purchase will perform as well as my Parents' 1940 purchase. So far - so good ...
