I LOVE it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a “real” cook and having to deal with an electric stove has always been a frustration. With the induction cooktop, I get the best of worlds, gas and electric. It heats up immediately and cools down just as fast. No more pots boiling over. It does make an interesting hum when it’s on but it’s well worth it to be able to boil water in 2 min. I have not experienced any of the issues with scratching others have commented on. When this stove dies, I will buy another one, no question about it

Main Board down within a month
on May 4, 2016

I had my induction cooktop installed during kitchen renovation a month ago. With the Renovation I switched to GE Profile appliances thinking they were upgrade from my LG appliances. Loved induction. Its great! After about a month of cooking on it, two nights ago I heard a pop while cleaning the cooktop. Now the two big burners and the other little burner on that side dont stay on. GE repairman says the board is down and needs to be replaced. This is not the first one he has seen. Only a month. Sure, they will have the parts here in two days and repair it on Monday but its Mother's day weekend and I have a lot of company coming and no working cooktop! Not Happy. The boards are about 1/3 of the price of the cooktop. What am I in for here? Not happy and worried that I decided to switch to GE Profile appliances.

Good value; intuitive controls; transitional ease

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Along with its clean lines and contempory appearance, this cooktop offers simple, easy-to-operate controls, which we found to be intuitive to learn and which eased our transition from gas and electric radiant cooking. We took the advice of the sales staff at the appliance store and selected a cooktop with fewer menu-driven features, which are more often appropriate for less experienced cooks and more difficult to learn to use. Another advantage: This cooktop fits in the countertop slot of recent-generation GE Profile electric cooktops, reducing installation headaches for those "trading up." The only feature we would change: We cook in smaller quantities and would have liked to have had two seven-inch elements rather than just one.

Very easy to cook on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am pleasantly surprised at how much easier it is to cook with this cooktop. The heat distribution is very even and cooking takes less time. I have used gas, electric and now this induction technology and I can't believe the difference. I would definitely recommend!

great ccoking performance but glass scratches easily

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 2nd GE Profile cooktop. The first one went 10 years without a scratch. The current one started showing scratches within two days and gets worse by the day, (all with the same cookware as was used with the first cooktop). It appears GE has gone with a cheaper glass for profitability sake. Too bad, outside of that the heating elements work great.

This is my first induction cooktop - It's the best cooking experience I have had! The workmanship is excellent, and feature for feature, the price is right.

Wonderfully high-tech

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This induction cooktop heats quickly like gas and is a joy to cook on. It even has a timer on it. The only drawback is the black glass is so shiny all spills or fingerprints show up, but I don't know of any black cooktop that does not show same. As far as glass scratching, just be careful and pick up the pots instead of sliding them.

Better than gas for cooking
on October 21, 2012

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We selected an induction cooktop as the best alternative to a gas cooktop since our house is all electric. It is better than gas. It is easy to regulate, easy to clean, and it's instant reaction to changes in heating levels makes it superior to gas cooktops. You do need steel cookware, but it is easy to find and most brands work well with induction.
