set up was easy both with wi fi for my lap top and usb cable on my desk top. I lie the versital the printer is. Only draw back is when I print a picture there is lines on the picture. still working to eliminate the lines. color is good. this is my 3rd Epson printer

perfect multi-purpose or photo printer

Most multi-purpose printer/scanner/copie/faxes fall short with their photo output. This one is perfect. I was also pleased to see duplex scanning/copying - it's a lot slower than single sided but it works
My Mom died this week and we needed some pictures from my Picasa albums quickly for a photo board at the service and for online. I had just gotten the printer and did not have time to fuss with color/brightness or even learning how to use it. I just installed the printer and photo paper and printed over 24 4x6 prints and some 8x10 prints and they all looked great. No off tones, no re-prints needed. I was also surprised and pleased the there was enough "starter" ink to do all of those. YEAH Epson for making a stressful time easier.
The only downside is that the high capacity ink is really tough to find except from Epson.

GREAT PRINTER WITH INK ISSUES

THE XP-850 IS A GREAT PRINTER BUT THE INK IS HARD TO FIND. AND, THE COST FOR THE INK IS A LITTLE HIGH. MY LAST PRINTER WAS AN EPSON PHOTO STYLUS R280. THE 6 INKS WERE FAIRLY PRICED AND LAST A LONG TIME. TO GET THE SAME AMOUNT OF COPIES FROM THIS PRINTE REQUIRE THE XL VERSION. BUT, I REALLY LIKE BEING ABLE TO PRINT WIRELESSLY. OVERALL THE XP-850 IS A GREAT ALL IN ONE.

Paper trays are hard to open in a dim lit room, manual feed of the cd rom printer has to be lined up just right. The Artisan had a auto feed for cd printing. Ink cartages have been shrunk. Print quality is good. I am going to have my Artisan 810 repaired and replace it from the XP-850
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Epson PRINTERS ARE ALWAYS ONE OF THE BEST TO BUY. I WOULDN`T OWN ANY OTHER. THIS EPSON XP-850 IS EXCELLENT.

I bought XP-850 Epson Claria, three years ago.I can not give even one star, because Epson has to compensate not only for the material damage, but also moral. Print quality is more than bad. If we consider the price is not acceptable at all. On printing always lines. After cleaning ( which I can do always) can print the bad quality, but at least no defects. In cartridges... I spent a fortune !!! In 3 years of suffering! I had to throw in the trash immediately, but always thought that something has to be adjusted ... I was betrayed by the recommendations of Brand, but I had to trust my own experience and happily return on it.
Now I choosed the best printer and certainly will not do the return to Epson, that should take care of most of its products, before putting the higher price!
I must warn you not to buy this product! Lose money, time and tranquility!
