When the print head goes bad ... everything is bad

This is a product which has some serious design faults regarding the print head/ink delivery system.
Worked beautifully for a few of months, then document streaking was observed. 4 cycles of nozzle cleaning is enough to deplete all six cartridges which then need replacing ... have just gone through 12 cartridges and am still having a problem.
Have purchased Canopy 2 year insurance on this ... but how do I call this in ?
ps operated an Epson RX620 for over 10 years without ANY problems !!!

Printer will not work after original ink is used

Printer worked perfect until the original ink ran out, bought new ink and has never worked right since. Have to keep doing head cleanings and by the time I had half of the heads working again I ran out of ink again. Trying to get Epson to send me ink to replace the ink I bought and ran through the printer already to try to get it to work again, but now they want me to send the printer back for a replacement. that has happened on more than one occasion. so it appears that thin printer is only good for one round of ink that comes with the printer, then it is junk.. do your self a favor and buy a different brand.

When the printer is working , it does a decent job.
I have had two occasions in the last six months were the quality of printing all of a sudden got terrible...requiring at least five head cleanings to restore a good print.....using a vast amount of expensive ink. In my opinion Printers should print.....no excuses...they should PRINT...not fail in only a few months of use !!!!!!! In my opinion this is NOT a dependable unit !!!!!!

While I like its compact design, it is much slower and noisier than the Artisan 837 it replaced. The overall quality is lacking in comparison to its predecessor.

After years of happy and successful printing with the Epson Stylus Photo R340, I went looking for a similar replacement when I was finally told the R340 printer had worn out and wasn't worth repairing. I settled on the XP850 because it seemed the best replacement for someone who wants a printer primarily for photos. The printer prints photos well. Virtually identical to the R340. But the good news ends there. The paper loaders are confusing, slow, and noisy. And the printer feels and sounds like it's made from cheap plastic.
The ink cartridges empty much too fast. Much faster than the R340. I'm already looking for a non-Epson replacement for this printer. Very disappointing!

I've used Epson printers for my small business for 15 years. My last printer, the Artisan 725, lasted 5 years with high volume usage. I was sad when it died, but I knew it was time to replace it. It exceeded my expectations. I need a six-ink printer so I read reviews for all of the ones Epson sells. The reviews were mixed, but a lot of people were complaining about the XP-850 printing with lines or not recognizing cartridges, etc. Guess what? They were right! I've had this printer for two weeks and it's already printing with lines. The pics look horrible. I've gone through the maintenance cleaning, etc, so many times (wasting ink). Replacing ink was a pain too because the printer takes forever to recognize it. On top of that, you can't even find the ink in stores! I went to 7 different stores and it was nowhere to be found. You can only buy it online. That doesn't work for me. I can't believe what has happened to Epson. I expected more. I've returned my printer and purchased another brand at half the cost. It prints beautifully. Bye bye Epson. :(

Perfect Printer

Everything is as I had hoped, from copying to wireless printing from smart phones other computers in the house to printing envelopes etc. We greatly enjoy the ease of use. The only drawback so far is it is still such a new product, nobody sells ink cartridges except Epson online so you have to plan ahead to get a supply ready, you cannot run to the store to get more while in the middle of a project.
I would recommend this to a friend!

good all in one for price excellent printer picture tones very good very fast print time the only thing for me is ink price and durability of unit this is my third Epson but for the price worth it easy to use
