The picture and sound has to be the best out there! The realism of the picture in the vivid mode is incrediable. Sony Televisions are "Quality" Televisions that stand out from the rest, and then you realize Sony is the best!. The best 32" out there for the money!
Have bought many Sony products over the years and have always been pleased with the quality. That and the fact that this TV was only 28 5/8" wide allowed it to fit in our Oak Entertainment Center drove the purchase. Great picture with lots of setup options to suit everyone. Couple items that we don't like. The remote is to small for the number of buttons it has. This remote like most any will operate several different pieces of equipment but they just cram to much onto it. We are using a universal remote that's easier to see and use. The other issue is with the TV's setup software. It needs some intuitive tweaking. It scanned our local antenna channels just fine and it allows you to add or delete those you don't wish to view. If you use the the channel up-down on the remote you can surf numerically through those channels you've selected. But when you want to just enter on the keypad a channel you must enter the whole digital channel number, i.e. 10.1, 6.2, 23.2 etc. The point here being we looked at other TV's where you entered just the base channel number without the decimal point and corresponding sub-number and it takes you to the first channel in that series of numbers. This may not sound like a problem but it has been a pain especially on this particular remote. This could be an easy fix with a software update but Sony has offered no software updates on this model. And not sure how you would accomplish that after purchase. On a more positive note this TV has the requisite A/V attach points but it also had a 3.5 mm headphone jack that can be configured to work several ways. This allowed us to use a stereo headphone plug to RCA plug adapter to hook up to our older Sony Stereo when watching movies.
Was easy to set up by this 84 year old woman who is not a techie -- and only moderately difficult thing was programming the remote since it is working off an adapter from an analog TV in another room operating off a cable box. Necessary to use the new remote to turn on and off and for vol. control and another remote for channel selection, but not a problem. In time I will probably do additional fine tuning of picture. This is a very good TV for a relatively small amount of money.
I had a Bravura once before so when I needed a new TV I got this one. It lost picture in two weeks so I brought it back and exchanged for a different manufacturer. Ta Ta SONYA.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello 50sFan, It is sad to hear that the unit doesn't go well and had to be returned. We always appreciate customers who take the time to give us their feedback. Thank you, Dave
Great picture, good sound and easy to use. This TV was easy to install (we purchased a wall mount) and ready to go. We connected it to the cable outlet without the box and without any other antenna the TV located several channels. Because we mounted it above the work table, the cord does not reach the ground. So the surge protector into which it is plugged is dangling. I hope to find a longer power cord.
I would recommend this to a friend!
