Excellent Replacement Shredder

This shredder is by far and away the best I have owned so far. It actually delivers on being "quiet" while shredding, even when shredding credit cards and CDs. Especially nice is the interior trap to trap the plastic refuse so it doesn't co-mingle with the paper allowing for recycling of the paper that has been shredded. It is everything that Fellowes has claimed. I haven't found a negative aspect to this shredder yet. Way to go!!

I've been using this shredder over a year and find it to be average! I've never been able to place more then three sheets of paper in it before the shredder stops. The auto sensing eye does not work well, stopping paper halfway and shutting off the shredder. This requires that you turn on/off the shredder numerous times to back out the paper.
You have to be gentle when replacing the basket or it binds.
The Disk/Card shredder works fine. The macro cuts are very acceptable for shredding sensative material.

Great Home Shredder

The MS-450-Cs is a great home office paper shredder. It completely destroys the documents being shredded. The small size of the shredded particles make it impossible to obtain any sensitive information, such as accounts numbers or SSN's, from papers, personal records, etc. shredded with the MS-450-Cs. It is also a sturdy and very quiet shredder. I strongly recommend the MS-450Cs to anyone who needs highly secure shredding capabilities.

Awesome Shredder - Best Ever

I have owned this shredder for over two years and by far it's the best shredder I have ever owned. After 6 previous shredders which had problems ranging from constant clogged teeth to absolute failure after 1-2 weeks, this one has NEVER had any maintenance issues. I don't even oil it as I should. Excellent bin capacity helps a lot too.

plastic gears!

I decided to buy this shredder after my first Fellowes shredder stopped working (the shredder worked fine for five years).
My new shredder worked well for the first four months. I was very happy with the overall performance. Then, after four months of use, the shredder would only shred one sheet of paper at a time.
Today, I tried to shred a sheet of paper and the shredder jammed. It stopped working (6 months after I purchased the shredder)!!!
When I opened the shredder (to clear the jam), I noticed that most of the gears were made of metal, vs my first fellowes shredder which had plastic gears. While I continued clearing the jam, I noticed why my shredder stopped working... The main gear that connects to the motor was broken. Yes, the main gear is made of plastic and broke like my previous shredder.
I would not recommend any Fellowes shredders that use plastic gears.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Mess Reduction
Cons: Warranty, Service Guarantee, plastic gear, breaks down after 6 months of home use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't usually take the time to write reviews but I have had such a great experience with this shredder. This is my second one . I searched the web to find this particular one because it works. The first is in my husbands office. Bought it for him as a gift about 2 years ago. No problems ,no jams ,quiet ,easy to dump, & safety features really give you that pieace of mind. Mind you I usually dont get excited about office equipment ,but when it doesnt work & you keep replacing them, you really appreciate it when you find one that does what it promises. This one is for me ,was using his but had to relocate due to work and he wouldn't give it up.

MS-450Cx: Excellent Product

I have only been using the produce for a few days so I cannon speak to it's longevity. However, I have enjoyed using the product. It is so much quieter than my previous shredder and appears to work effortlessly. I also like the very small pieces because the bin does not need to emptied as often. I look at two other Fellowes shredders but this one suited the office space better and, as I said before, I like the way it works quietly.

MS-450C Shredder

Bought this shredder for work and it is awesome! Everyone in the office likes it and with the cross cut feature the paper is cut up so tiny, you do not have to worry about identity theft. Would highly recommend!
