Viewing in HD mode shows very sharp, clear picture however on basic tv programs picture has some bluring and colors are not quite as sharp as HD. difficult to sharpen picture, color ,and contrast when not in HD mode as adjustment selections are limited
For the price it is a nice TV

this is a lcd not led looking from the side is NOT good and the tv keeps shuting off makes a mess

Hello hotdog!, Thank you for your feedback, this unit is has a LED Backlight panel system. We would like to recommend to try the following steps to turn off the ECO settings and verify if the issue of shutting off by itself gets solved:
1 - Press Home.
2 - Scroll down to SETTINGS, press ENTER ( middle button located in the circle with arrows).
3 - Scroll down and select ECO, press ENTER.
4 - Turn the following settings to OFF : POWER SAVING, IDLE TV STANDBY, AUTO SHUT OFF, press ENTER after each change.
5 - Press HOME to exit menu.
6 - Test the unit.
