Very Poor Evaporator Drain Design!

We have had this refrigerator for nine years and the drain line has frozen numerous times resulting in me dismantling it to resolve the issue. Very unhappy with this piece of junk! I bought an entire kitchen of GE appliances and in hind sight, made a huge mistake!

High end price, low performance

Bought this 8 years ago, along with GE Profile kitchen suite. Just registered with GE when I was replacing a broken part. I was asked for a review. When first purchased, had 2 service calls for ice maker. If you use ice and have more than 2 people in your home, forget this model. Consistently runs out of ice! Takes forever to make more. In addition, for the past 6 years, I regularly have to remove ice build up under the long deli drawer. That is why I needed to order a part, the deli drawer is difficult to get back on track and a plastic pivot on drawer lid broke off when I was reinstalling the drawer. Not spending any money on service calls, too expensive! I will put that towards new unit when it something major goes wrong. Disappointed with quality for the amount I paid for this appliance. LED lighting is lovely, but right side only works when you bang on inside frame.

Constant repairs on this refrigerator.

This is the worst refrigerator I’ve ever owned. It is constant maintenance. The water accumulation under the deli drawer and the ice maker constantly jamming (it was replaced once already) has become intolerable. Isn’t there a fix for these problems? The support page just says it needs a tech to repair. I’m not investing any more money in this, I’ve spent enough.

Loved this fridge for 16 years.

I bought this fridge in 2008. The only issue I’ve ever had was the ice maker and that was only a couple years ago. I hate they’re no longer making these. I “hear” the company sold and things are as good quality as before. If this is true, that’s really unfortunate. I’m looking for a new one now because we broke something off that causes the freezer not to fully close and homeowners can’t repair it. Should we buy another GE??

I like it but....

I like this refrigerator that I bought from a friend. It worked great when I bought it but it repeatedly forms ice in the bottom of the refrigerator, annoying but I can deal with that. The ice maker often clicks like its stuck, sigh. Now the thing keeps changing temperatures on the refrigerator and turns on and off the turbo cool, beeping all the while. I am wondering if it is dying. Is replacing the motherboard the answer for the temperature problem? Ugh.

This product has great features.

I am happy with the product except for the ice-maker. Every couple of weeks it freezes up to the point that my husband has to force the ice-cube drawer open and get the frozen cubes completely out. Then we wait a day for the ice-cube maker to make ice-cubes that we can use.
