Looks great, but already had to have service

We bought this when we completely remodeled our kitchen and while it is sleek and modern and cook really fast and efficiently, we had to have GE service come out 3 different times to fix a problem with a burner. I would recommend, but with caveats.

Innovation in Home Cooking

I have cooked on gas and conventional electric, and this is definitely a new experience. The old saying of "slaving over a hot stove" no longer exists with this unit. It is amazing how little heat is given off during cooking. The unit is easy to clean up after spills because the spills do not burn or stick to the cooktop unless it is under the pan, just wipe it off and you are done. The unit is very attractive, and I would recommend you buy this stainless steel trim model expecially if you have granite countertops.
My only real complaint is not with GE but the manufacturers of the available cookware because some are not designing the size specifications of the magnetic base in accordance with cooktop manufacturers' specifications. For example, the large burner on this unit requires a minimum of 7" magnetic surface on the base of the pot/pan. On two of the major cookware brands on the market the base on their 10" frying pan and their 5 quart Dutch oven is 6 3/4" and therefore will not work on the large burner. Also, the medium burner requires 5 3/4 inch minimum base and the cookware's base is only 5 3/8 inches for their 2 quart pot. The 1 quart may actually be too small for the small burner. When you go shopping for pots and pans, be sure you have a magnet and a tape measure for the magnetic disc/surface. Once you have the correct pans/pots, you will be thrilled with the operation of this unit.

Love this cooktop

This is the second one we bought. The first was here when we bought the house. Maybe 6 years old. Once you have experienced induction cooking you will never want anything else. I do hope this one lasts longer than the first one though.

Awesome Stove top

I bought this 4 months ago. It's sleek and classy and functions perfectly. Boils water under 2 minutes and cooks all food evenly. I love induction!

I love cooking on induction heat. Nothing ever burns on the top when there are spills. I also like that it works like gas, instant on/off.
