This microwave is noisy and does not heat very well at all. Also the Active Vent broke just after it went out of warranty. After having a GE Dishwasher, that was a piece of junk that was recalled for safety reasons, I would not buy any GE products ever again.

Hot Coffee!

This is the first microwave I've ever owned that could heat a cup of coffee without cooking it and giving that that burned taste. It's got great other features too - particularly the "melt" and "reheat" options. To top it off, the unit is visually attractive.

This product came with the house and I am so glad our builder chose this one. I love it. It has a lot of great features! It pops my popcorn just right, every time.

Just Problem after Problem

Came with my new house a brand new . Worked for only six month and start proble after problem, controller board, Sensors ,lights and so on.
And none of the are cheap and easy to replace
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Power Issue - Microwave Shuts Off Periodically

This microwave model (PVM1870SM1SS) was installed by the home builder as part of the GE stainless steel appliance package when I purchased my new home. So far, no issues with the oven or dishwasher, but I’ve been experiencing issues with the microwave for the past two years. I’ve had this microwave since January 2009 and experience issues of the microwave periodically shutting off. When it shuts off, it powers back on after about 3 seconds, which would then require resetting the clock. When I start my cook time again, the microwave shuts off after running for 3-5 seconds, and I would have to reset the clock again. Sometimes, the microwave does not power back on, but if I bang it with my hand around the edges, the power would come back on. Eventually, this problem would go away for a while, but will happen again; I’ve been dealing with this for the last two years. I notice this periodic issue occurs after I microwave a food item that produces a lot of humidity. Most recently, I microwaved two frozen burritos (covered with a plastic microwave cover), and a day later, I still have issues with the microwave shutting off. It also happens when I microwave soup (also with a cover). Eventually, this issue will go away, but I know one day, it won’t power back up. For a while, I thought the home builder was at fault for improperly installing the microwave, but after seeing other reviews of a similar nature, I’m beginning to believe it is a faulty microwave. I’m very disappointed with this GE product and likely will not buy another one.

Control panel problems

Had to replace after 2 years because control panel issues, microwave would start beeping randomly with error messages in the middle of the night. Had to unplug it to stop the beeping.

After 3 years. It fails . bad models, stop heating food, start making noise and than it's totally dead.
