Died after about 7 years

Had the magnetron replaced after about 3 years, the part was under warranty but not the labor. Had to find a certified repair company, so it cost about the same as using a regular repair company. It died again after another 3 or 4 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked Amazing for me for over 10 years.

I was reading the reviews below and it stinks some of you had such a short life with your unit. I really loved my unit the style was great and it worked very well or many years. The only issue i ever had was the plastic behind the vent that would fold down cracked off from age I guess and then it never worked properly when opening and closing. I bought my unit in July of 2010 and it just died. I bought a replacement unit because it showed having the same color green display but in reality it is a white display which sucks since I already installed the darn thing. I replaced it with a JVM6175SKSS. Watch out for that is your ordering online a unit and expecting it to have a green display.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've been in my house for 6 years and the microwave just died. First, it tripped the circuit, then wouldn't start at all. Waiting for service to either repair or replace it. I've been hearing, not a good track record for this microwave from GE.

Disappointment

Microwave that is barely used turns on but doesn't heat. Incredibly disappointing to purchase a more expensive microwave and for it to stop working after 9 years. The microwave before this was a builders special from 1987 and is still working at a relatives house 30+ years later. Looks like I'm with everyone else who has a brick sitting inside their custom cabinetry. GE Should be replacing them all or compensating for a new one.

Display unreadable after 7 years

Purchased in July 2010 with other profile appliances. Display quit working after 7 years, turntable just quit turning. In the market for( a replacement, will not be a GE product. Dishwasher quit at 5 years, refrigerator on its way out.
