When paper runs out of machine you have to put the paper in and take it out several times before you can get printer to print without error message that printer is out of paper. This is aggravating and quite time consuming.
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup
Cons: Slow Print Speed, High Ink Consumption
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn't work

Scanner doesn't work, have tried to uninstall and re-install drivers several times. Firmware upgrade crashes everytime.
spent way to many hours to try to get this to work.
Cons: Large Footprint, Heavy/Bulky, Difficult Setup, Difficult to use, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got what we paid for

We got almost what we expected: a cheap quick printer to take the load off our good one. FAX never has worked and the manual is no help. OK - not much FAX need anyhow. Unit drinks a LOT of ink for the quality of output. Overall, this is just a fair, very cheap, do-nothing-very-well-or-bad unit. That's what we paid for and that's what we got.
Pros: cheap
Cons: Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, High Ink Consumption, poor user manual

WHAT A LET DOWN

When I purchased this product I thought I was getting an unbelievable bargain. Boy was I wrong. I used it very little as a printer, it took almost 1 year to use up the original cartridges. I replaced them and that was the end of a great relationship. It won't work at all and needs service according to the support site @ canon. Of course the warranty has expired.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everyone of the pictures he uses is done on my mx310

This machine is not at all user friendly. You can not print a fax from memory if either cartridge is low. The instructions are poorly written. The on-screen menu is unclear. The paper has to be in the slot perfectly.

Had it 2-3 weeks. Easy to use. One problem....the manual does not tell you what "recommed new C-CRT means"

Exceptional product

We bought this as both a scanner and a printer, since our printer was about to die, and I was unhappy with my previous scanner due to the quality of images. I was worried about an all-in-one product, because it seemed to be more than I needed. I am glad I overlooked my trepeditions and went with this product. I'm an artist, and scan work daily. I love how easy it is to adjust scan resolution and quality...and the pictures that I scan in are very easy to work with (my previous scanner consistantly scanned at a very low quality regardless of the resolution settings). I have no complaints about the print quality either, because I have used this to print out commission work, which my customers were very happy with.
I am very satisfied with this product, and will continue to use Canon products in the future.
