Worst headache Ive ever had

Its huge, noisy, and forces you to spend loads of money. It wont even allow you to print black and white without a colour cartridge. Not to mention it just doesnt work. Ive never been tempted to throw something out of the window so much in my life

THE PRINTER ITSELF DOES A VERY GOOD JOB. THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRINTER WAS QUITE REASONABLE. i DIDN'T KNOW, HOWEVER, THET I WOULD REPURCHASE THE PRINTER ABOUT 8 TIMES PER YEAR BUYING INK.
THE PRINTER USES INK BY THE GALLON, AND THE INK IS HIGHLY OVERPRICED, NO MATTER WHERE YOU LOOK.
ALSO, THE PRINTER WILL NOT ACCEPT REFILLED CARTRIDGES. NO SAVINGS THERE.
ON THE ABOVE BASIS, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRINTER TO ANYONE.

Service Makes The Difference

I've had this item for 4 months. The most irritating thing is that it does not print FAXs when the ink is low. To compound that, the original cartridges that came with it still had more than 50% ink remaining when the low ink messages came on and stopped the automatic printing of FAXs (they go into memory). Tech Support walked me through the procedure to print the FAXs from memory. I did have some issues establishing the FAX settings that I wanted and had to call tech support for that also.
I have had a number of HPs and Epsons, none lasted more than 2-3 years. I don’t know how long my MX310 will last. What I do know is that I have received the absolute best technical support from Canon. HP’s and Epson’s support were terrible. With Canon, you get to speak to a person who speaks fluent English within 3-4 minutes and they know their stuff!
Pros: easy to use, best technical support
Cons: Large Footprint, Heavy/Bulky, won't print faxs when machine thinks ink is low

constant breakdowns

Pros: for the garbage can
Cons: Difficult to use, Large Footprint, Dull Tones & Colors, unreliable, High Ink Consumption, you name it.terrible!!

An Epic Fail

We bought this printer at a great price. Set up took a while but was relatively simple.
At first, everything went well. The printer did what it was told. And this lasted a very short time.
Yes, the features are great and all-- but they don't work. They NEVER work. My MX310 doesn't print, scan, or make copies unless ALL ink cartridges are full. Which is never, given how short lived those ink cartridges are. And to replace them? Your wallet will empty out of cash the same way the cartridges run out of ink.
Not only that, this printer takes forever to print. Our other Canon printer, 10 years old, prints faster and higher quality than this MX310.
Canon's a great company with excellent customer support, but there are some products that are just so bad it's not worth it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've sent this printer back three times due to the paper catch malfunctioning. Quality of printing is good but it's also noisey and clunky and I believe this is why the catch malfunctions.
