Reliable, easy to use

I've been using all of the functions on this machine with regularity and have had little to no issues. It's not the fastest or the most intuitive machine around, but I've managed to overcome any minor issues that have cropped up. Fax, scanner, copier and printer have all worked well in a Mac OS X environment. The ink consumption is the only downfall. I'm surprised at how expensive the refills are. I'll have paid for a new machine before long! For the money I paid and how I use it, I'm very happy with the product.
Pros: Compact Design, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable
Cons: High Ink Consumption

Bought this in Oct 2008 and so far have had no problems. When I needed to set it up, I phoined for help and was completely satisfied with the people who helped.. They knew exactly what to do and talked me thru in a matter of minutes. It does use ink rapidly however I did read in the manual it may not be as low as the popup says, there is a way to make sure it is as low as it shows on the screen., Refills do cost a bit much.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: High Ink Consumption

My biggest problem is the features that are lacking for multiple faxes.
This machine software does not keep a record of past faxes and it severley limits the details that one wish to state about the sender.
Additionally, the lack of templates further hinders the ability to project a professional image .
With the exception of these features I believe it is still a very good value for the money.

Worst Printer I've Owned

I've owned this printer for more than a year. After just a few months, the printer started printing with lines through the middle of the text. I tried doing the maintenance/troubleshooting procedures in the user guide, but the steps didn't fix the problem. Because the printer wasn't too expensive, I just kept using it. Plus, graphics turned out well, and I liked how the scanner worked.
Recently, there was a paper jam, and since then, the machine won't feed any paper. I've tried cleaning the paper feed roller (according the steps in the user guide), but the machine just can't catch the paper.
The warranty is expired, so I'm just going to toss the printer and never buy a Canon printer again.
Pros: initially inexpensive
Cons: uses ink very quickly, print quality is poor
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall quality good, lots of features, minor paper feed problem and printer is slow in waking up, processing itselt, etc. If you're not looking for a speedy guy, this should be a candidate at its price.

I have been using this for a while now it has had its moments. The photos come out with a white film or discolored ie..greenish tint. It has fitted my needs but I will be moving up in class to a laser photo. I do wedding photography as a side gig only on a small scale. Sometimes I am challange with not getting the photo centered on the paper, I have wasted a lot of paper 4x6 and 8x10. It uses a lot of ink! Consistency is my only problem but it is a big problem. There is where my frustration comes from putting a shoot in the paper in the same spot everytime.
Pros: fast print speed
Cons: High Ink Consumption, unreliable

Great for the Price and overall performance

Im a graduate student, I purchased this printer with my Mac. I was just looking for a printer for school. Nothing extreme, just basic print outs, when i hooked up this printer up, it was amazing. I realized i would use it for more than just school. I have scanned and printed tons of pics. Its amazing, the print quality is great. I could not have asked for something better. So if your looking for pics printing and or color prints for work or school. this is the way to go. I recommended it to several friends and all are satisfied. Good luck.!!

I've owned my Canon MX310 now for just over a year. I bought it new for just under $89, & I love it.
It was easy to setup from out of the box.
Ink isn't ask expensive as most other brands sold.
Most importantly... It works when I need it to work.

It may b a poor mans Multifunction, but its a darn good quality multifunction printer! I work on PC's, & if I chose to could work on Printers because I'm trained to do so.. & I know a quality, working mans price MFP when I see one. I recommend these canons to my family & customers because I've always used them, & I know they're solid MFP's.
