MX310 works very well. I purchased this unit after using my PIXMA iP5000 for 5 years which has individual ink tanks. I wanted the scanner and fax options the MX310 has. However, expensive ink cartridges and not able to use scanner, or fax if ink cartridges are empty. These issues were a large disappointment. Please fix the ink cost and ability to use non-ink functions in future models. I've had 1 super experience and 1 fair to poor. Everyone gets a second chance to get it right. I've been a faithful Canon customer since I bought my first 35MM camera in 1970, that I still own and use. Please consider customers needs first.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
Cons: High Ink Consumption, ink tanks empty cannot use non-ink functions, high ink costs

Price of ink excessive. Better to by new printer then replace both in cartridges. Looking for better value and ditch this.

A great disappointment. Slow. Sequence for pushing buttons is not intuitive (you need to have the manual open to use this machine). Color is fair. Devours expensive ink cartridges.
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, High Ink Consumption
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the printer portion great works awesome.however, some issues with the fax as receiving a reply back.overall It works great and does what I want it to do with the expectations it was made for.I love it and the price was reasonable.Also the software was easy to install on Windows Vista all I had to do was let the disk run it all.I only wish Ink was cheaper but that's an overall issue with all printers (lol).
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors, holds tons of paper in bin and does not bunch, unique design
Cons: photos only appear good on photo paper, faxing can be questionable

This has been a very reliable machine for scanning and printing. I use internet fax so I don't do the faxing. I was also very happy to get all the software and drivers needed to reinstall on a new computer. I will buy Canon again.
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable
Cons: Large Footprint

Too costly to operate

The ink cartridges cannot be refilled and are way too expensive for the amount of product sold. I will not purchase a Canon printer again as this one costs too much to keep running. Period!

Good, but fax machine disconnects my phone calls.

Love the print quality, scanner is excellent, fax machine seems to be fine as well. Like the small footprint. Price was great.
My only problem is that if I leave the printer powered on, occasionally, it will switch over to fax mode while I'm on the phone with someone and disconnect my call. They will hear the fax sounds, I just hear nothing. I work around this by powering the printer off when I'm not using it. But that's sort of a drag since I have it on a wireless router.

Great Unit

Have just had the product a few weeks. Photo quality very good, Fax easy to use. Scanner took a little time, it would have helped if I looked at the manual to begin with, but again it did a very good job. I'm very satisfied with the product. Canon Prefered Customer program is excellent.
