Fast & Accurate

I love this printer except for one minor [but annoying] glitch that popped up 3 months after purchase. The "In Use" LED came on and refuses to go out despite the best efforts of an online Canon techie. Now, because I've turned AUTO PRINT off in order to prevent junk faxes from automatically printing and wasting ink, it's impossible to know when a FAX has arrived without digging through menu screens. The printer is attached to a 24" iMac. With this combination, I've found that documents & photos print exactly as displayed without having to tweak any of the manual color settings or ColorSync profiles. This machine is lightening fast and offers tons of printing options in the computer's Print Dialogue menu. I've never tried scanning directly from the printer but it's certainly a breeze when using the Mac's highly flexible "Image Capture" application. Likewise, copying is a no-brainer. I greatly appreciate the fact that the MX700 uses 4 ink tanks instead of 6, each of which can be replaced individually. Yes, the printer takes a while to set up because there are dozens of features to comprehend and zillions of options to consider, but isn't that a good thing really? Who wouldn't desire the most bang for their buck? Bottom line: I would buy another MX700 in a heartbeat.

Always Cleaning Black Print Head

With every after the printer has not been used for a tfew hours, the black print head must be cleaned for a proper print. This is not an issue with the colors. Bought a laser for primary printing, and only use it for scanning, fax, and color printing.
Very dissapointed.
Cons: frequent black cleaning

Hard to use

Where is the users guide? I have my Quick Start guide. . it says to look in the on-line guide to find out how to enlarge and reduce on the copier. Why can't this be in the book? I still haven't found the answer.
Cons: Difficult to use

Ink tank can not be recognized

That is all I get on powering it on. Keep resetting 1 specific ink tank. Close lid and get's the same message again. I have taken the print head out and replaced it. Can't get it to print. Always the same message. What a mistake purchasing the MX700.

Great Printer

I will only buy Canon Printers and the MX700 is a great printer, I've owned 3 canon printers and work them to death. The only reason why I upgraded, Ink was hard to find.
Pros: Compact Design, easy to use, fast print speed, Low Ink Consumption, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors, individual color cart.
Cons: not wireless/but ok

Excellent product

This is the second Canon printer I've bought and I have nothing but positive things to say about it...except two things: The ink runs out fairly quickly and the refill cartridges are quite expensive. Other than that, it is a very high quality printer with a lot of features that are easy to understand the use of.
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, High Ink Consumption

I DID EXTENSIVE RESEARCH WHEN PURCHASING THIS PRINTER, I LOOK AT SO MANY DIFFERENT REVIEWS AND I DECIDED TO PURCHASE THIS PRINTER. AS A STUDENT I REALLY NEED TO USE THE PRINTER. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED THAT LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE I HAVE HAD THIS PRINTER REPLACE TWICE AND I STILL HAVE NO WORKING PRINTER. MY NEXT STEP IS TO REQUEST A DIFFERENT MODEL. HOWEVER THE SUPPORT SERVICES ARE VERY GOOD.

Cons: Heavy/Bulky, unreliable
