Solid, works well every time

Check Consumer reports- they give it very high scores to.
It just does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. I have been very pleased with the borderless picture quality, page printing speed, and everything about it. The on screen display doesn't leave you wondering what your printer is doing, it was easy to install. Plus, the ink is cheaper than most. It's a good buy. The only downsides (Minor) are that it's larger than a mere printer, and that it doesn't have duplex (2-sided printing).

Ink Leaky

Several times the black ink has leaked out on to the top of the printed page. It is very shaky when it is working. The copy plate hides one side badly. It is not able to copy the full page correctly and or fully even though I try to manipulate the page in different places on the glass for copying, I can not get satisfaction out of that.
Pros: Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed
Cons: unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The scanner is great, but the price of the ink cartaiges are so expensive and they have a rather low amount of ink, a lot dried up inside the plastic packet. although the printer-sccanner is cheap for the quality it shows. I do recomend that.
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable
Cons: High Ink Consumption, expenssive ink

Good Home Office Product

I use this product in a home office. It was easy to set up and use is almost intuitive. With well labeled and positioned buttons, it's a cinch to copy, fax and print. I haven't done much scanning so won't opine on that. I was a little concerned by some negative reviews, but for the home user, this is a pretty friendly machine.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable
Cons: Large Footprint

Having owned Canon printers and other products over a number of years, I am used to a high standard of quality. The MX700 meets and exceeds that expectation. The print quality and speed are exceptional, and the price is very affordable. I would definately recommend this unit to anyone.

Best price and features

I purchased this printer after my PIXMA800 malfunctioned. I have had it for over six months with no problems. This is not my first Canon product. The setup was a little involved, however, once done it has functioned nicely. The FAX function works great, even with international use. If you print a lot of documents, and set the quality to "Draft" or "Fast" the print speed is as fast or faster than any ink jet on the market.
I figure if an old guy like me, who's first computer had a whopping 8K memory and loaded from a cassette tape (floppy drives were few and far between) can install this and make it work the first time, then I think that Canon has done a great job with installation and ease of use.

Great multifunction printer

Works great! Have used all the functions and could not be happier. Issues with fax machine answering phone calls was fixed with the software update. Printing is fast, photo prints are outstanding, faxing is easy, scanning is easier. Highly recommend.
