LOVE IT

For a grandmother who does not know electronics very well I highly recommend this item to older adults.
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Low Ink Consumption, reliable

I am a Canon fan, but would just rate this one as so so.Maybe because I have 2 of the older canon's ip3000 printers that are awesome. I'll never understand why a company makes an awesome product, then just makes future models inferior and also change their ink cartridges like the rest of the companies. Ink is the biggest rip off there is.
The MP470 is a little noisy, but will print and copy, etc well enough. The double sided printing is inferior to the ip3000 because you have to manually turn the paper over. What's the point. This was not an expensive printer, so for basics I would recommend because it is a Canon.

I purchased this printer a couple of months ago. Very easy to use. Good quality. I had a different brand before, but I will only use Cannon from now on.

High ink consumption

This printer uses way too much ink. I'm a grad student, and when I've printed a few docs and pdf's for class, I'm running out too quickly. I'm looking for another printer.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: High Ink Consumption

After 20 months still a great printer

I purchased this printer in january of 2008, and have never regretted it. I don't know how many prints people are printing off, but i have only had to buy 2 black and 2 color cartridges, even after printing off 120 wedding programs in red ink double sided, with color pictures and i print at least 1 or 2 items a day normally. the only down side i have is having something falling into the paper slot, i once had to tear apart the printer to get a screw that fell in there. but other than that the printer has been great and it works great with card stock.
Pros: Easy Setup, reliable, great with card stock

Great Printer!

I have had this printer for at least 2 years and it still works great. I think the I do a lot of printing and I haven't had any problems. Print quality is great! The speed is also good for a ink jet printer. I always purchase CANON printers.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed

Great Printer for the money

I bought this printer about eight months ago and it has yet to disappoint me. It prints beautiful photos, scans and copies very well and the ink is less expensive than the other big name printer manufacturers.
You really can't beat this printer for the money. I would have given it five stars but after only eight months of use it wouldn't be honest. A printer should last a minimum of three years and I'm not even past the first year yet!
The printer was easy to set up and the software bundle it comes with was also easy to use and well organized. The printer utilities are laid out very well and the overall user interface is excellent.
I'd definitely recommend this printer to my friends and family...even strangers!

worst printer ever

about an month after i bought it, it started to break down and act weird. it would printer bad pictures and now it's always not aligned. it wastes a lot of paper and ink, not worth it's price and time to try to fix it.
