printer will not feed, says paper jam, but no paper is jamed, cannot get any results for fixing problem. Should not have any trouble with printer just over a year old. Not satisified about the help on consumer advise or the printer problems.
Cons: unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used Canon inkjet printers for over 20 years.
I use them for all my home use, never having to
purchase the high end models.
This PIXMA MP470 serves my home printing needs perfectly
with outstanding quality text and occasional photo prints
all at a very reasonable initial investment.
I can highly recommend this printer for home/office use.

ink too expensive

This printer/scanner/copier is exceptionally user friendly. Not once did I have to get a manual out to try to figure out how to use it, which I greatly appreciate. But, I think that it uses a lot of ink and that the ink is too expensive.
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable
Cons: High Ink Consumption

Big apology!

I just submited a bad review on the MP470 printer. I feel very foolish right now. I was on the website looking for help with jamming and smudging. I wrote the review while I was frustrated after running the maintenance programs without success. Well it turns out that a quarter (coin) had fallen into the paper feed tray! Looking back, I am amazed that the printer even worked as it has been problematic for a month or more. With the quarter-ectomy done, It now prints as good as it used to. PLEASE disregard my prior poor review. This printer works great as long as you don't put loose change in it! I AM VERY SORRY FOR MY PREMATURE REVIEW AND MY STUPIDITY!
Pros: Compact Design, durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable, can withstand at least some abuse

Excellent Price gets the job done

Handles all the basics at a very good price. I love the card reader feature and printing speed is decent. The scanner gets small shadows if your document is right near the edge. Cartridges are easy to find and a reasonable price but go very quickly. All the inputs are very convenient including the USB PictBridge right at the front.Perfect for your canon camera. I'll never understand why printers don't come with a USB cable. Had to buy my own. Hardware and software setup was a breeze. I'm having a hard time getting pictures to print to actual size but that could be the program I'm using. Perfect for a college student like me!

Paper jams which is apparently a known problem. i have not tried support but I can only hope they have a fix for it as I have already tried to clean the rollers to feed the paper with no positive result. Will let you know the result of support

Great printer

I have had this printer for about two years and I have not had a single problem yet. Document printing looks fabulous and photos look really good too. I have been scanning a lot of old photos lately and the scanned pictures look just like the original. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is because ink cartridges almost cost more than what the printer did and Canon does not have an option for high capacity cartridges for this printer.
Pros: reliable, easy to use
Cons: High Ink Consumption

I am on my second printer. I had one replaced through the warranty when it stopped feeding the paper. Perhaps I am not computer saavy, but I find this printer difficult to use. You can easily switch to copy and scan modes, but there appears no way to easily switch back, and now my computer just tells me the printer is not responding. Maybe it's me, but it is frustrating.
Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Difficult to use, unreliable
