The colors in my photos don't seem to print true to life. The set up was very easy and the features are great. Overall I am very satisfied with the product.

Disappointing

Almost every time I try to print something, the printer bends one corner of the paper and smudges ink all over that corner. It's been like that since I got it. Sometimes if you reposition the paper it doesn't do that, but a lot of the time there's nothing you can do to stop it from happening. Maybe I got a bad unit, I dunno. It's also very loud when it first starts printing. Sounds cheap, like it's clanging around. After hearing nothing but raves about Canon printers, I'm a bit disappointed.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: High Ink Consumption, unreliable, Flimsy Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use printer/scanner combo

My wife got me this for Christmas a couple years ago as a bundled deal with the Canon Powershot A630 camera. I have been very pleased with the printer which has worked flawlessly since I first set it up. My wife uses the printer more than I do for printing cards, and it works great for that use. No problems printing on heavier card stock type paper due to it's straight through paper path. The photo output is not as good as my 6 color Canon 9000, but it's not bad at all for printing 4x6 snapshots.
The scanner is what I use the most and find if I just use the simple scan interface and take all the defaults it does a fine job on color or B&W photos. If it needs any tweaking I use Photoshop Elements or even the MS Office Picture Manager to adjust contrast, color, rotation, etc. My wife who is not a computer wizard finds it easy to use as well.
All in all it's a good family printer that we've enjoyed using. I don't find it's ink consumption to be any worse than other inkjets I've owned, though I do wish the ink carts were a little bigger & a little cheaper!
BTW, I'm still using that Powershot A630 camera too!
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, easy to use

I have owned this printer for about 9 months now, and no real issues. I would have liked it to be wireless thru an ethernet connection as well and not just thru bluetooth. we just completed some Mothers Day projects with transfer paper, and the pictures turned out flawless. The print speed is way faster than my previous printer that was a competitors product, the resolution is also alot better. the card reading and pictbridge features are great and easy to use. The ink consumption could be better, but no complaints. I had this printer up and running in less than 10 minutes after getting it home. all in all its a very good printer, and am very satisfied. Way to go CANNON
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: High Ink Consumption

I was in the market for a scanner and found this. I've had it going on 2 years now and have never had a problem with it. It seems to go through ink pretty quick but that's my only complaint.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
Cons: High Ink Consumption

Very Satisfied

This printer prints images beautifully. It is versatile and easy to figure best ways get certain images printed. It is very user friendly. And the images that I scan in are absolutely beautiful. I used to work in advertising and used machines that cost $10,000 to scan images. This machine is very close to that quality and I am able to tweak it even further in Phothoshop.
I would recommend this product to anyone who asks.
Thank You

Designed Failure
on March 8, 2018

I have a Cannon MP 470 printer that I now realize was probably designed to fail in a way that virtually makes it impossible to repair. My printer suddenly developed a glitch that blocked the feed of printing paper. I followed the advice of the manual and online directions and recommendations of the Cannon website. Nothing worked. Finally, I discovered the problem. A small plastic part in the paper feed had broken. The molded plastic shell of the printer makes it virtually impossible to reach and repair or replace the failed part. Local computer repair shops refused to try repairs. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that anyone looking for a good printer to avoid Cannon products.
