Go back to the noisy brewer
on March 2, 2010

I had an older brewer that was dropped and broken. It was wonderful. I read people complained about the noise so the brewer was changed. The new "quiet" machine is not reliable. I never get the same amount of coffee when I brew a cup. Sometimes I have to hit the button several times to get the right amount. Why fix something thas is not broken?

Leaching?!

I just unpacked my Keirug and before filling the water reserve noticed that it was made out of #6 plastic which is know to leach. Now I'm worried about all of the plastic in the system. I just searched their site and can't find an explaination of the plastics used. I can't take the risk, so I will return the unit tomorrow. I wish Keirug was more transparent so that I could be assured that it's safe and that I could enjoy the product!!!

AFTER READING MANY REVIEWS, IT SEEMS THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE MARKET - IT SHUTS DOWN AFTER 2, 3, 4 WEEKS OF USE.

Great Brewer, Too SMALL Cups of Coffee
on March 31, 2010

I LOVE the looks, style, quickness, and convenience of the machine, BUT the brew sizes are way too small. Who drinks a 6 oz cup of coffee? For that matter, who drinks a 10 oz in this day and age. People use 16 oz mugs or travel cups, for the most part, and even 10 oz of coffee gets lost in it. 10 oz should be the smallest cup and 16 oz the largest, then you would have the PERFECT brewer.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Limited Cup Sizes

Same story-poor quality w/short lifespan

After years of inexpensive coffeemakers, I decided to spend a good bit of cash on the Keurig. It worked great for about three weeks, then started to not brew, make noise and then shut off. Called customer service and was pleasantly surprised to get a live human being who was completely on board with sending a new one. New one arrives and no more than a month later, I experienced the same issue. Called customer service thinking they would tell me I am crazy, but they were amenable to sending yet another one. I asked if there are reported issues with the home brewing system and was told 'no'. Now after reading all the reviews, it is obvious they have a major manufacturing or design issue. I mentioned I WANTED to send the old one back so they could trouble shoot the issue, but the woman on the phone said to just send back the K-Cup holder and discard the coffeemaker. Based on the reviews here, can you imagine how much Keurig plastic is sitting in landfills? Not to mention the hassle of not having coffee while awaiting the shipment of #3. My recommendation is to simply buy another brand. Keurig - you have a problem and it would be wise to address it.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Pricey poor value, Does Not Last, Not worth the money, Not durable

On my 5th Brewer since Dec 30

I'm on my 5th Brewer since Dec 30, 2009 - first 3 did not pump water into the reservoir, then machines would shut off. Keurig was good, sent out new brewers, no questions asked. The 4th brewer was doing something strange...nothing would come out when the brew button was pushed...it just stayed lit, then would turn off the machine after 5 mins of idle time. This time when I called Keurig, I had to jump through 20 hoops before I could get them to replace the thing. Fifth brewer is working good so far, but I'm only 3 weeks into it..they start to fail after a month. Stay tuned.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Fragile

Love this machine!

Went through numerous higher ended coffee makers (Bunn, Cuisinart, Mr. Cofee) and this blows them all away. The amazing variety of fantastic FRESH coffees (for EVERY cup) are quietly brewed at the perfect temperature literally in moments via timer on manually. Absolutely zero mess, no grounds, no extra drips, no nothing. I make two different types of coffee to drink on my morning commute! It's like a coffee of the month jackpot but daily. A high end restaurant quality cup of coffee every time with no wait, preparation or mess. Only thing for me is that I would like to see the k-cups sold individually a la carte in stores.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Fast, Perfect cup of coffee, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: none

Special Edition Model is very noisy...
on December 2, 2010

This coffer maker is easy to use but has a very noisy water pump. Other models may not be as noisy. Keurig's solution is to put something like a computer mouse pad under the coffee maker. I haven't seen a computer mouse pad large enough to fit under this model. Customer satisfactiton with this model doesn't appear to be one of Keurig's major concerns. I would not purchase another Keurig system or recommend this to a friend.
Pros: Durable, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Noisy
