I wish it worked like it did on day one

I love the concept and I have had my Keurig special edition for about two years now. I didn't like the trouble of brewing a whole pot of coffee just for myself, and I never liked the coffee in the pot after it had been sitting for a few hours. The Keurig is a perfect concept and it brewed a perfect cup of coffee every time. Plus, I appreciated the variety of options with the K-Cups. However, after about one year, it stopped working properly. Read all of the reviews carefully. They are spot on. The unit will turn itself off and on. I always have to turn it on in the morning and wait for it to heat up. Also, you cannot select your brew size. It is like playing a video game to hit my cup of coffee while it cycles through the menus. Sometimes the water pressure is low and the water is not heated to the proper temperature, both problems leading to a disgusting cup of coffee (at the expense of a K-Cup). And frequently it doesn't brew the proper size, often dispensing about half of what it should. I'd like to get a new unit, but the other reviews are not very encouraging. My "average" rating is charitable because I love the concept, and I wish for an improved implementation in the future.

I love my coffee maker. The coffee is expensive and when I buy them I expect all the little cups to be filled with coffee. I found two in one package empty and this makes it even more expensive
Pros: Fast, Multiple Settings, Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

Saves time, great coffee!

My husband and I had been contemplating getting a Keurig for quite a while (truth being I wanted one, he was hesitant he would like it). Well, we received one for Christmas and I must say I love it even more than I thought I would. I used one at an old job and always loved the convenience but didn't think the taste was 100% as good as my at-home coffee. Now that we have our own, the coffee we make is just as good as the old drip coffee machine and I love it more because it's so much easier! We don't use the kcups, we have a refillable solofill cup so we can use our own dunkin donuts coffee. This also ends the debate around how expensive kcups can be. We also have the coffee filters you can use inside the solo cup, so that's even easier! Now we never have to quibble about who has to clean the coffee pot everyday. It take a second to wash the little solofill cup and we can make our coffee as we want it. The only downside I could see is if you have a house full of coffee drinkers who want a cup at the same moment. Waiting on each other could get annoying. But, for 2 people that's not a big deal!

NASTY TASTE / AWEFUL PLASTIC Smell

The unit gives the coffee a nasty taste and the smell is awful. We have thrown away so many kcups of drinks we have brewed because the taste is horrific. Tried cleaning it with vinegar and the small and taste does not go away. :-(

The Special Edition Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Did not last

This unit lasted less than 2 years with only light usage. Cleaned during that time. Unit leaked. Leak was in a solenoid that was defective and I could not fix. Parts not available. They sold me a new unit at cost but by the time duties, frt, tax, no free coffee pack the cost was what sale prices are now.
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

For single person use

Have had my machine for quite a while now and it has never put the same amount of water in the cup every time. I still use it for my personal use daily as it has made me cut back on the amount of coffee I brew. I pull out the regular coffee maker when I have company so we don't have to wait for each cup to brew. It is very noisy and hard to clean. I would recommend this product for single person use.

Cons: HARD TO CLEAN, Pricey / Poor Value, Fragile, Noisy

Happy Mother's Day!

My husband will only use instant coffees, sooo, he puts coffee and condiments in cup and presses the button. Voila! He's happy! Oh, he likes the hot chocolate and can fix it himself! My favorite is the Chai Latte and the Colombian Decaf. Not so great: Blinking lights bother me; and also, I need to know if the 'Special Edition' model allows you to have a special insert so you can use your own regular coffee when you want.
Pros: Stylish, Fast, Easy to use

Problematic

We use our brewer everyday. When it works we LOVE it. Unfortunately, it is prone to glitches. Although we de-scale and clean the probes regularly we have given up on this model because it is frustrating. The LED display works randomly, buttons light up then the machine turns itself off, makes noise like it's brewing but doesn't. We've decided to get the model without the LED display & programming features hoping it will be less problematic.

Cons: Noisy, Unreliable
