As an avid coffee drinker, I can appreciate being able to try new types of coffee easily. Pop a K-Cup in and hit the mug button and you're on your way. There is a slight amount of noise with the product, but nothing overly loud and definitely not enough to wake your roommates up (because they sleep in way later than you do). The cups can be a bit pricey, as you can buy an entire tin of coffee that's worth well over 18 cups for the same amount, but if you get the K-Cup that allows you to add your own, you don't have to worry about that.I chose this one over the Elite that my parents have as the looks, and the clock function (with auto-on feature) is almost already worth the [$]. The extended water reservoir and extra cup setting are nice, although I have never used the latter. All in all though, the unit does seem a bit on the higher-end of price range. I don't know of anything really comparable to the Keurig in the sense that there are manufactured cups specifically for the unit that are one time use, but that's my only issue. I marked it down as a con, but it definitely wasn't enough to turn me away from the unit entirely.The bottom line is that this looks wonderful in your kitchen, as the designers obviously had aesthetics in mind when making this product. It's extremely easy to use, makes making coffee a breeze (especially in those situations where you don't want a whole pot) and is a good investment.

Teacher gift

I have a Keurig Mini at home, so I brought the idea to our PTA to buy this as a gift for our teachers. Our school is far away from any coffee shop and most teachers cannot stop to get coffee before coming to school. We presented them with this brewer a year ago and they absolutely love it! The school store buys bulk k-cup boxes for the teachers to purchase k-cups for just 50 cents each. I have recieved several comments from our teachers & staff saying they love being caffeineated before dealing with children all day! It boosts morale and just plain makes them happy!
Pros: Durable, Stylish, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Fast

The Special Edition Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Disappointed

Purchased my first brewer in May 2010. It stopped working 6 months later. Keurig did replace the brewer and it worked fine for a few months. Now have the same issue of no power to the brewer. I de-scaled every 3 months and used filtered water as suggested, but the brewer still stopped working. I am trying one more brewer;if it has the same problem will definitely switch to another brand. Have been very disappointed in the short life of the brewer.

BEWARE

My Brewer "erupted"! It started by itself after brewing a cup, Compressing K cup and spewing hot water all over. It would not turn off and Keurig would not return my emails or acknowledge the problem. 2nd brewer to go down. Anyone else experience this problem? John Delio

Makes coffee...sometimes

I try to use this every day. "Try" is the operative word here. As with many, many other Keurig users, after 18 months to 2 years, the maker simply stops making full cups. I always use the setting that makes the largest cup/mug...but, more often than not, it makes 1/2 to 2/3 cup instead. I've tried cleaning, re-cleaning, the paperclip trick in the nozzle, other solutions on the internet, etc...to no avail. I really wanted to love my Keurig because I love the single cup concept and system...but, the fact that it won't make a consistent cup of coffee prevents that love. Keurig, you really need to engineer a solution...too many people have written about this problem for it not to be addressed.

Cons: HARD TO CLEAN, Inconsistent full cups, Fragile

It is very loud! Only the largest coffee cup button works now and it overflows every time! It is such a hassle to clean up!

I brought the [$] unit as a gift for my wife, the entire family loves it. I just wish the In-laws were not over as much to enjoy it!!! I have recommended it many times to many friends.

I am very frustrated, because this is the 3rd "special" coffee system I have bought in a 3 year period. This coffee system should last longer for the price. The one I have now is only about a year old. I have to have my coffee in the a.m. therefore I will have to find another brand. It started going slow, then only brewed partial cups. Cleaned it, now it brews even less, if it starts at all.
Pros: Easy to use, Fast, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Taste convenience, Multiple Settings
Cons: Does not last long, Pricey / Poor Value, Quits after a years use, HARD TO CLEAN
