Owned this machine for 9 years!!!

I have been recommnending this machine for years to friends and family. This model is amazing. Friends have bought the more expensive model and replaced theirs 4-5 times, I was the first to purchase and still have my original keurig that I bought 9 years ago. I can't say enough good things about this machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased my first Keurig in 2009. Started leaking within a year. Customer service answer? It must be calcium deposits from my water. No amount of insistence on my part that I use filtered water from my refrigerator got through. Followed their descaling instructions to no avail, of course. They sent me a new kcup holder. Of course that wasn't the answer. Sent me a new reservoir. Solved the problem. Bought a new one with the "Quiet Brew" technology in Feb 2011. Put the old one in our camper. New one leaked and stopped working within 4 months. Customer service answer? Calcium deposits...see above as I repeated the whole process. Customer service needs a new script!!! I insisted on escalating this and getting a new brewer, which they finally agreed to do. Still working at this point. Old one in camper leaking again. Throwing it out! Final comment...ever decreasing supply of kcups available through Keurig. Complained about that and got a coupon for a free 5 pack. Couldn't find what I wanted as they were out of those too...
Pros: Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Non biodegradeable pkg, Fragile, Noisy

So easy my 7 & 8 year olds daughters use it easily!
Pros: Easy to use, Durable, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Fast, Stylish, Multiple Settings

The Special Edition Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

After reading the comments on this site and having the same problem as more than half of what I read, I can deduct that this product is of poor quality and will fail somewhere between 13 and 24 months. The warrenty expires at 12 months. Primary problem is the unit will suddenly not power on. The company tries to blame the problem on the power outlet... but the repeated comments on this site suggest it is the lack of quality in the system.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this coffee maker for Christmas 2011. Eight months later, it has stopped working. Water in the internal compartment just drains back into the water reservoir on the side; will not make a cup of coffee anymore. I use it twice daily to make a total of two cups, and clean the appliance every month. Tried several times to reset it, to no avail. Will not spend the money to buy a replacement. Very disappointed in the quality. For the price, I would certainly expect it to last more then a few months.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

2nd time buyer

the coffee maker has many upsides, however the first one we bought lasted less than 2 years. First the reservoir leaked, then the electronics died.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Short brew time, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use
Cons: Lasts less than 2yrs

I was all excited about getting my coffe pot, until I started making coffee with it. I think all the coffee is was too strong for the 9 oz cup, but I am sure its perfect for the 12 ozs. I bought several light flavors and still way too strong and bitter. Not sure if I am keeping this product, but I will be deciding in a couple of days.
Pros: Easy to use, Stylish, Fast
Cons: Coffee is way too strong, Not enough cup sizes, Limited Cup Sizes

I have now owned 2 of the special edition brewing systems. Both of these have lasted about 1.5 years and have both failed. When they worked they were great and very easy to use. I was about to purchase my 3rd after my 2nd just failed, however after reading the rest of the comments I have decided to go with a different brand. Spending that kind of money for a machine that will only last a little over 1 year does not make a lot of sense.
Pros: Fast, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Stylish
Cons: Noisy, Durability, HARD TO CLEAN
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
