Had to return first machine we purchased 2 weeks and 2 days after purchase due to 'prime' error. Had to return second machine we purchased 3 weeks and 2 days after purchase due to 'prime' error. Needless to say, there was no third purchase.

Prime Error

I love the ease of use of the Keurig. Its fast and hot. I purchased my Special Edition Keurig from [@]. Sadly after about the 3rd or 4th week my unit kept giving me a PRIME error. I understand this error to be when the water is attempted to be pulled from the reserve, right after you brew your coffee, for your next cup. At first it happened here and there. As a result, I'd have to power off the unit, unplug the unit and remove the water reserve. After all was put back on- the unit would do what it should and pull over the water and heat it. Slowly though, it would happen after every cup of coffee. It became a pain, so I exchanged it at [@]and got another Special Edition. And sadly again, after 3 or 4 weeks, it did the same exact thing. I returned it this time. This is just my opinion- but the smallest cup setting on this was too small. It wouldn't come close to filling up a normal coffee cup.Since my husband and I loved what the Keurig should do- we are going to attempt another purchase. I gave only 3 stars because of the hassle I had on both my units. If my next unit cooperates- certainly 5 stars will be given
Pros: Easy to use, Fast
Cons: Prime error, Smallest cup too small

Leaks and pump not working

I received this as a gift and have enjoyed the many coffees I could get with it. The problem is two months ago I noticed leaking out the bottom of the machine and failure to brew. I cleaned it and it was ok for about two weeks and then leaking again and now the pump sounds like it is just running and not pumping. I use only distilled water in it. Of course the warranty ran out last month go figure. I am perplexed by this leaking.

A brief love affair

This coffee maker was a gift. When I unwrapped it, I was sure that it was wrong for me because I have a small kitchen with limited counter space, but the machine, while it was working, earned every square inch. Because it is self-contained, I was able to tuck it into an unused corner. It warmed up quickly and made a decent brew for a drip coffee maker. I loved that I could control the temperature & volume. I didn't love the K-cups, which I think are very wasteful, but I bought a reusable filter. I loved it so much that when a coworker (with a small kitchen) received one for Christmas and was going to give it away, I made sure that he kept it, and he thanked me for that. Still, it seems to have reached the end of its life. It keeps insisting that it needs to be de-scaled, even after I have run gallons of white vinegar through it. Its motor is weak and failing, although I have owned my Keurig for less than a year, and have brewed on average less than a cup of coffee per day with it. It won't brew a cup of coffee now, anyway. I've seen a video on youtube that explains how to open it up and lubricate the motor, and I'm working up the gumption to try that. Because the machine had such a short useful life, I am saying that I would not recommend it. If it had been built to last, I would still love it, but it was an expensive appliance that, in the end, did not deliver.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

Good So Far!

We have had this unit since November 2011. The only time it brews coffee, is when our coffee drinking friends come over. We only drink tea, hot coccoa, and apple cider. Since we have had it we have had no isssues other than it being a little noisy. We have a Culligan reverse osmosis water system at our sink area, so filtered water is no problem. Brewing what we drink has been a pleasure so far, nice and hot, soothing, very tasty. As with anything it took some practice to find out what size mug did the best for whatever we were brewing. Once that was figured out, it's been a perfect mug everytime!
Pros: Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Fast, Easy to use, Durable
Cons: Noisy

EXCELLENT VALUE

I have owned several types of coffee machines over the years, recently a high end brand electric perculator. Not ready to replace my expensive super-automatic espresso machine which has retired after 10 years, I longed for a satisfying and reasonably priced means of caffeine. I have just purchased this machine and WOW! Beats a drip and since I have absolutely no plans of using anything but K-Cups ( which I think this is truly intended for ), I am thinking this is pretty close to perfect for a quick style machine. I preheat my mug with a hot water run before brewing a K-cup and won't ever have to pop my mug into the microwave again. I'm impressed. I like that it has 8oz and 10oz; my coffee gets lukewarm if I make a bigger cup. Obviously water quantity and the biological make up of your taste buds will come into play when tasting your coffee, but I must say that I really have enjoyed Green Mountain brand and look forward to trying out all that is offered. Try something bolder if you use more water - easy right? Might be awhile before I decide to spend mega bucks on another espresso machine as I'm really enjoying this machine. A person really doesn't need anything fancier, this does the trick! Temp may be adjusted for those who like it less hot. And please, take the time out to run a couple of tanks of water before using it for the first time and use only filtered water. I haven't detected any 'plastic' after-taste.
Pros: Stylish, Quiet, Fast, Hot

LOVE IT!!

I have had my Keurig for almost 3 years with NO problems whatsoever. It has been used daily, as my husband and I are big coffee drinkers. We just love the fresh brewed coffee taste and the convenience of it. My only complaint is the cost of the k-cups, but by using the filter you can cut costs by brewing you own store bought coffee. Its a little less convenient but much more cost effective. In the beginning yes, you may get a weird taste with the new machine, but after a day or two of running it that goes away. Bottom line I would recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use, Stylish
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value
