We have purchased no less than 15 of these machines for home/summer cabin/adult children/relatives/friends and are going to buy another one for our guest addition and another one for friends. We have had them almost three years now and not had any problems with them other than one or two vibrate more than others. I don't know about the other coffee makers but this one is wonderful. Our friends who didn't have one and used it at our home, loved it so much, they went out and bought themselves machines. They all love the variety you can get with the coffees/teas. My husband and I actually drink tea but like different kinds so it works wonderfully.
Pros: Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Durable, Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes

We use this multiple times a day. Love that I can walk over and get a cup of delicious coffee whenever I want one. Wonderful variety of flavors. It does get a little noisy when it blows the puff of air through the K-Cup at the end of the process to ensure all coffee comes out of the K-Cup. I love that it does that because there are no drips when I take the used K-Cup out. I think the issues people have reported with it not dispensing all the water after a year or so is because of the mineral build-up from their water. This happens with other coffee makers, irons, ice makers, etc. I don't think that's an issue with the Keurig. Would recommend using distilled water or buying the mineral filter Keurig offers.

I love my Keurig! I have recommended it to many of my friends who have gone out and bought one themselves. I use my machine many times throughout the day. It is quick to warm up and brews a perfect cup every time. It is also great that you can change your coffee or tea choice with every cup!

I'm not really sure what all the issues are that folks seem to be having, it's disheartening. =( I can say that I am very happy with ours. We've had it going on several months now and I've not had a lick of trouble out of it. Perhaps there was a bad batch of brewers running around out there, maybe a drop in QC due to a manufacturing rush. I wouldn't be afraid of owning another. I plan to swap our Select to our RV and buy a Platinum for the house to get more brew sizes and larger water tank. What noise it makes I'm ok with, some people are sensitive though, it does gurgle and make it's pump sound. If I have 1 complaint, it's lack of flexibility or adjustment of brew sizes. -1 Star for that, because I think it could be made to be "perfect". ;-)

Cons: Limited Cup Sizes

Coffe maker short lived

Had the quiet maker coffe machine now for only 3 days and it is now broke, unit will power up and heat the water but once ready to brew it turns off, Called Keurig on Saturday and was surprised that someone answered, after some trouble shooting customer service said they would send us out a new machine and that the current machine could be trashed just to return the holder only, for the price of this maker I would expect it to last for at least a few years, My $40 coffee maker has lasted for 4 years with no problems, I hope that the replacement will last longer then the current one which right now is just taking up space on my counter. Hope not to have a problem down the road but if I do seems customer support is there for you, time will tell.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish
Cons: Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Makes wonderful, convenient coffee

We use our Keurig brewer everyday. We have had our brewer for a year and a half. We thoroughly enjoy the variety of coffee available and the convenience of fresh brewed coffee to suit our individual tastes. No wasted coffee either. Also great for company. No complaints here.

The brewer is noisy but fast and easy to use. We like the variety of K-cups available on the internet. For larger cups I press the left button first to brew, then open the lid, leave the same K-cup in the brewer, close it and press the middle button. Makes a delicious large insulated cup of coffee that is plenty strong. I like being able to boil a quick cup of hot water without using the microwave.

The Special Edition Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

My excitment after purchasing this machine went from a 10 to a 2. 1st machine failed to come on properly and stay on. Now have the 2nd one. It failed to come on as programed. I turned the power on, never changed to "ready to brew" then powered off. These machines have a mine of their on. one day they work - one day they don't. Customer service nice, "but please fix your product"! Waiting for the 3rd machine to be sent to my home. This time we'll try the upgraded model.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
