Was mine defective? Brews weak coffee

My boyfriend and I are daily coffee drinkers. He had expressed interest in a Keurig, so I got this model as a Christmas Gift. We've been using our brewer for about two weeks now, and I am quite disappointed. Ever since day one, our brewer has delivered exceptionally weak coffee - I'm not exaggerating when I say it delivers "coffee flavored water". Even when using the smallest cup setting, what comes out is water with the slightest hint of brown. For how expensive this brewer is, you would expect it to brew AT LEAST a decent cup of coffee. This happens when using the standard K-Cups, as well as when we use the My K-Cup. No matter what cup size you choose, halfway through pouring, discolored hot water is all that's poured into the cup. I did some online research to see if anyone else has had this problem. Several people mentioned descaling, cleaning procedures, etc. However, may I remind you, we've only had our brewer for two weeks. It only gets used once or twice a day, so any exceptional build up shouldn't be happening. I did examine our brewer, and nothing was clogged. I am returning our brewer, and requesting a refund. Our $10 standard coffee pot that we got at the thrift store works exponentially superior to our Keurig. I am quite disappointed, as I have read SO many positive reviews. I'm not sure if our particular brewer is defective, or if weak "coffee" is just what you get from an instant brewer. Best of luck to those who purchase this brewer, may your coffee be stronger than ours was!

Genius Invention!!!

I wish I bought one of these sooner! It's VERY quiet, fast, hot and too easy to use! I'll never go back to my 'other' coffeemaker! Guaranteed a fresh, perfect cup every single time, any size, any flavor! Hat's off to the inventor!! LOVE this product!!!

Love Keurig but not this model

I have a Keurig coffeemaker in my office and I love it! The quality of coffee is always good and tastes great! This model is not good. It worked fine for about a week and then we started having problems with the 'not ready' light staying on, the coffee only trickles out and doesn't make a full cup. We called Keurig and they shipped us a brand new one. The new one is doing the same thing. It's problematic.

i had an expresso machine that got retired and it cost more than the k65. the freshness and quickness is superior. and the my k-kup is a dream come true.

Every morning coffee is ready before I can get my cereal ready! With this cold weather Hot drinks after work are easy too. And for coffee to go,same thing quick and easy. It does make some noise but so does the vacuum, the washer the dryer, but I still use them. My old coffee maker made noise... And the best price on line.

I liked the unit's convenience and quality of coffee a lot. But brewing ability failed six months after purchase and less than 60 uses . Keurig warranty service was great and quickly replaced the unit so I hope the second is more reliable.

Got this brewer Free one and half years ago, Love it until suddenly this year it stopped working, did all the maintenance they suggest even went to the site to try to fix the problem it had did not brew anymore the water just poured through the needle even after what they suggested to do it still did not work, but I was very happy with it until, now I am unhappy I don't have it, would like to get another model, but as I see on the reviews on Keurig.com they are poor on other trusted sites they have rated their models much better, it is easy to use and very fast and not very noisy as others have described it, I was so happy with it as I say that I am looking for a replacement, but not sure whether to trust the longevity of this product or not.

I loved my brewer, however, for the price, it should have lasted more than 3 years. I was extremely disappointed with the product longevity. Customer service was great, and offered a $50 coupon. I would only recommend this product to others with their knowledge of its short life. The price to life span of the brewer is extremely disappointing.
