Serves Its Purpose

I really enjoy using this unit because of its single brewing capabilities. I was that guy who would make a pot of coffee, drink 2 cups and the rest would sit there for an hour in the pot burning up. Not sure what issues other users are running into about cleaning this thing, but this machine is by far VERY EASY to clean. Pull the craddle the k-cups sit in and simply run it under hot water. If you haven't cleaned it in a while, soak it in hot water with dish liquid. Cleaning the rim, just remove the 2 screws on top and it comes right off...rinse under hot water and screw back up. Very simple. The biggest disappointment with the machine and k-cups are the strength of the coffee. I like to go with the 10oz setting, but the K-cups do not hold enough grounds to get the bold flavor I am looking for. What I started doing was brewing 2 k-cups on the smallest setting and that worked out well. However, who wants to run through 2 K's to get 1 cup?? I finally decided to get the reusable K-cup and thats been working out a lot better. I get more coffee for my $$, fill it up with grounds twice and brew on the smallest setting to every cup I drink. Its worked out well for me. Especially when using Starbucks Sumatra and other dark roasted coffee.
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Durable, Multiple Settings, Fast
Cons: Expensive

We Love This Machine!!!

We've had this coffee maker going on three years and it works today as good as it did on day one! We use the brewer at home and for up to eight cups a day - maybe a few more if we are entertaining. There are only three cup sizes but we only use the largest setting. No more stale or wasted pots of coffee and we love this machine so much that we purchased several to give as Christmas gifts. Should you find yourself on the fence in wanting to purchase one, take the plunge and go for it - you won't regret it.

Great Brewing System

My wife and I use this brewer every day. We used to set up the drip coffee pot the night before, but with the Keurig, we no longer need to. The brewer is programmed so it is on when we get out of bed and the variety of selection makes the morning a little more fun. I can have one type of coffee and she can have whatever coffee she wants, both within seconds of each other. The flavor of the coffee is outstanding and the brewer turns itself off after two hours if we forget.

Beats Tassimo

We've owned 2 Tassimo units by Braun, and while we loved their versatility, they were unreliable. Lattes, espresso and capuccino were great, but in all other respects Keurig has it all over that other machine. Our Keurig is much faster, MUCH quieter, and far more reliable. We'll just add our own cream, but I had to dock them one star for it. ;-)

Noisy, then failed

Received as a gift last Christmas. Love the concept and the operation, except that it became progressively noisier. Stopped working last week. We were very disappointed. HOWEVER, we like that system well enough that we are going to buy a Platinum model in the next day or two. The new model is described as a Quiet Brew, and I hoping that it has a much more durable pump.

Loosing a loyal customer!

My original Special Edition works great, love it! The Platinum I have in a 2nd home died after two years, cleaned it, pampered it, it never did work great. I purchased the Special Edition, it is now cheaply made, makes a ton of noise and the coffee is average at best. It seems Keurig is now making their units cheaper, they make the noise of a small generator and sadly the coffee is not good. I was always telling friends how great the Keurig is, no more. I am trying to remain loyal but my wife has moved on after loving the Keurig.
Cons: Average taste, Cheap Noisy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Special Edition Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Not so great

Makes a great cup of coffee, but unfortunately most of the time, Only makes a half. We are returning the second one for a replacement. Hopefully this one will be a better one than the previous ones. Very frustrating when you can't get anything at all or a half or less in the morning.
