New Brewer Replacement

I bought a coffee maker a week ago today, tried to use it the next day and was never able to get it to work right. I called Keurig and they had me fax them my receipt. Then after some phone tag they said they would send me a new one. I then had to mail them the K Cup holder. [...] I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Great Coffee, Great Idea, Bad Design

I will start out by saying that, prior to getting this machine, I was a casual drinker. My wife is a tea drinker, and I never wanted to deal with brewing a pot of coffee for myself, so I only drank it when I was out at a restaraunt. My wife got this for me last Christmas, and I loved it. The coffee was great, it was quick and easy to use, and it essentially turned me into an everyday drinker. That having been said, I drink one cup everday in the evening, and will usually only have it in the mornings on the weekend. Bottom line, I make 1 cup a day on average.So, you can imagine my frustration when, by the end of April, it stopped working properly, and started giving me half cups of coffee. Somedays its would work, others it wouldn't. If I tried to brew it twice, the coffee would taste funny. My wife descaled it, it worked for a couple of days, and stopped working again. She called customer service twice, and they told her how to clean it, and still nothing. Finally, they sent me a replacement one, and everything was fine...for about 3 weeks. At that point, the backlight on one of the buttons burned out...not a big deal, it's cosmetic, but annoying. Then, 2 weeks later, it tells me that I need to fill the water, even though it has a full resevoir. Again, it's hit and miss for a week, and I finally call customer service. After 10 minutes of them asking questions and talking me through trying to fix it, they say they have to send me a new resevoir. So, short story...My wife spends [$] on this machine in December, I make 1 cup of coffee a day, it breaks within 4 months, was relpaced, and has had 2 problems in the last month and a half, one of which requires a replacement part. The system now sells for [$]. Looking around this site, and others, it seems that most of those who have it, love it...I do too, when it works! However, there are a number of people who have experienced recurring problems with this particular model, and I've seen fewer negative posts about models that are both more expensive, and cheaper, than this one, so my advice is to avoid it. On the positive side, it does make great coffee, and their customer service is excellent, but their willingness to so easily send me replacements for this brewer makes me think that the problems are more widespread than the "4-star average" reviews let on.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No more bitter coffee from too long on the warmer. Make what you need, fresh, when you want it. No waste.

Love my coffee machine.....

We are big coffee drinkers, love the varieties. I think the machine cannot keep up with the volume. Been through 3 machines and it has not been 1 year yet. Although we don't drink that much during the week...on the weekends we drink volume coffee. Do use filtered water, so I don't think it's a lime problem...maybe the machine is a bit fragile...but I love it.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Fragile

Love my elite use it many time a day with 3 coffee drinkers in the house. Still works as good as when I bought it 3 years ago.
Pros: No wasted coffee, Stylish, Durable, Multiple Settings, Easy to use
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

The Special Edition Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Perfect for College!

I love to brew a nice hot cup of regular coffee in just a few seconds to keep me going all night to study for my college tests. It is really great to have a coffee maker in my dorm. The great thing about my Keurig is that it makes NO mess, it is quick and easy, and I only have to add water after 5 or 6 uses.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Quiet, Timer, Durable, 5 Cup Settings, Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Adjustable Brewing Temp

Only good for two years or less

It think this could be an outstanding value if these coffee makers lasted longer. I painstakingly cleaned my makers at the beginning of every season as directed but they still failed. I had my first fail after one year and the second in under two years. I am now considering if I should invest in another or try another brand.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use
Cons: Not durable, HARD TO CLEAN

You can't beat a Keurig Brewer

I make myself a cup in the morning before I shower, then make another for my travel mug to the office, then another at dinner, and maybe 1 or 2 before bed. This is fast, easy and great tasting. I've had many coffee makers during my life, but this is by far the best, and great tasting cup after cup after cup...
