Great Concept but POOR Quality Equipment

K cups are a great concept and extremely convenient. It would be great if a quality manufacturer would put out a brew machine that was as reliable as the K cup. Now on to our third Kueurig, as at first the pump slows the brewing process followed by complete failure of the machine. We love K cups so the Keurig is a necessary evil. For us its part of the cost of fresh coffee. Congrats to Keurig for manufacturing a poor quality product that the consumer keeps buying. Btw I write this review just before I put an order in for our 4th Keurig.
Pros: Works great for 12 months
Cons: Not durable, 12-18 month lifespan

Poor quality

My family and I love the Keurig concept but the quality of the brewers is so poor it makes me wonder why Keurig just doesn't make them here in the USA. I have purchased 4 in two years. Two I was able to return. The past issues I have had were the pump which draws from the reservoir failed, gradual failure to not pushing water through the k-cup to just not working. I have cleaned the coffee maker as directed all the time and still the issues persisted. For the amount of money you pay for the k-cups the least Keurig could do is to make a decent coffee maker. After this one dies I may go back to the Mr. Coffee at least they lasted 5 years.
Pros: Brews a good cup, Stylish
Cons: Noisy, Pricey / Poor Value, Made not to last, Fragile, Built like garbage

Great Coffee Maker/Great Customer Servic

My first Keurig was purchansed in 2008, and being the memory queen I am I thought I remembered how to descale my Keurig, well, I didn't remember the whole proceedure. After the last descaling it tripped the ground faults, after speaking with customer service I realized the error, and already knew that my machine was not under warranty, all I really wanted was repair shop, which there are none. I ended up buying a new Keurig through them (ended uip being more economical than buying through local retail or a different machine) and got the newest edition. Any time I have needed help customer service was there for me. Right down to when my first machine needed a new rubber gasket, which I was willing to buy and they sent for free. Let me tell you the quiet brew is a great improvement, and the additional feature of being able to brew a really strong coffee for iced coffee is a nice touch. There are three people in this house that drink coffee, all at different brew strength, the Keurig accomodates that. And with the My K-Cup you can use your own coffee. I like to roast coffee (nothing smells better than coffee roasting) grind and brew it, and it works beautifully. Bottom line: Yes I recommend this to a friend and would tell them, if you have a problem with the machine or K-Cups, contact customer service, it is amazing how quickly they respond. Oh, and it does help to be poliet.

Great Coffee Machine

My wife bought this machine 8 months ago. We have used it every day since. The wife likes her coffee mild while I go for wild. This machine lets us each have our favorite. The only problem I've had was it began short cupping after 6 months (brewing less than the size selected). I researched and discovered the machine should be de-scaled with vinegar at least every 6 months. Once I completed the de-scaling the machine was back to brewing the correct amount per cup setting.
Pros: Durable, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use, Stylish

Greatly Disappointed

I received my first unit as a Christmas gift. Worked well until April, when it started having "Prime" errors. meaning that it would not pump water out of the tank, and into the brewer. I was really pleased with customer service, as they sent me a replacement. It arrived on May 18th, worked a couple of weeks, and now has the exact same "Prime" problem. If you read the customer reviews, on this website, you will find WAY TO MANY 1 star reviews regarding failing machines. It is pretty obvious that either the design, manufacture, or both is lacking here, and that trend seems to span all the models.
Cons: Undependable Bad design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The appliance should be better considered PRICE, Less than an year... today (06/05/2011) I will file a warranty claim, lets see how long it will takes. :(

My brewer is going in the trash today. It is 18 months old and used only 6 months as I winter in Florida. I am going back to a more reliable product. - the coffee pot.

The Best Gift Ever!

I'm the only one in our house who drinks coffee. With this machine there is no waste, plus it's quick and easy to get that morning cup. I often use the MY K-CUP with a breakfast blend and save my favorite K-Cup flavors for moments when I can sit back, relax and enjoy a yummy cup of coffee. The only fault that I have found is the help page indicates that the internal reservoir can not be emptied. While true you can't open it, the internal water does come out if you tip the machine at an angle. Unfortunately, I discovered this when I tipped the machine forward with HOT water still inside. But, now that I am aware of it, I'll just be careful to let the machine cool before moving it. I love it!
Pros: I make what I need, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Durable
Cons: Hard to empty
