One Cup at a Time
on January 6, 2013

I really wanted a one cup maker and just purchased this even though I have read reviews that the maker breaks down. I am hoping that mine won't if I use filtered water. Keeping my fingers crossed. I will most likely only use the K-Cups occasionally because of the expense and waste. I was very disappointed that for the price I paid for this maker, it didn't come with the water filter and coffee filter. The maker is very noisy, but I think I can live with it. I also thought that with 3 cups sizes, I would be able to fill my travel mug, but it doesn't fill it up. Perhaps, this is to leave room for milk, but I don't use much milk. This maker is ok, but overpriced for what it claims to do.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Fast, Easy to use, Stylish
Cons: Noisy, Limited Cup Sizes, Pricey / Poor Value

this one only fills your cup up half way. I like the one cup brew, because I am the only one that drinks coffee in my house, and i dont have to make a hole pot. I would recommend the keurig brand to anyone but not this model. I have one at work and it is different and gives u a full cup.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, HARD TO CLEAN, Limited Cup Sizes, Noisy

Didnt last a year

I used this machine for a cup or two of coffee a day. It worked great for about six months. Then it began sending water back into the reservoir and making partial cups of coffee. The coffee maker was cleaned and it worked sometimes. Finally, I woke up and the machine would not turn on. It died after about 10 months. I didn't get the value out of the machine that I expected. In retrospect, it was a terrible buy.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Noisy, Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't even bother with this machine

I have had this machine for about 18 months. After 9 months, I started getting just a "partial cup" less than half of my cup. I have followed the descaling and needle cleaning process as the manufacturer recommended but to no avail. So, then I called customer service as recommended by a Keurig representative. No resolution. I was offered a replacement machine at a discount. Needless to say, I declined the offer. What a waste of my money. However, it is stylish looking on my kitchen counter.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use, Stylish
Cons: Fragile, Pricey / Poor Value

I actually have the Special Brewer B60 and I just love it. I bought one in May 2011 and used the Keurig descaler on it about 3 months later. Evidently the descaler was not up to Keurig's standards. They sent me an email, sent me a new Brewer with instructions on sending the other one back. I have had this one for 2 years and 5 months. Only problem we have is that the whole that goes into the pump under the reservoir gets stopped up once in a while. I just run a plastic toothpick around it and it goes back to working. I am a tea drinker and my husband is a coffee drinker. We make 4-6 cups a day. I love that I can use it for hot chocolate and iced tea. We live in an area with hard water and filtered water is a must but even with filtering the water out of the frige there is still some scale that accumulates on the reservoir but still no problems. I don't descale it with vinegar as often as I ought too but it does get vinegar about every 6-8 months. Still no problems. We have had other brewers in the past that have not lasted but a year or two, even with filtered water. I love the convenience of a k-cup and the instant cup of coffee. I would like a bigger cup size but that is remedied by using the large first and then the small cup size. If the coffee is not strong enough, I suggest getting a stronger brand of coffee. We do not like our coffee or tea super strong. We hardly ever shut our brewer off and it still powers just great. It is a little noisy but then we have had drip and percolators that have been louder. It is a long ways from the bedroom so the noise is not a problem. I am fixing to buy the platinum brewer because of the larger reservoir and the large 12 oz cup size. We often use travel mugs and the 12 oz size cup would be a convenient feature. The older Keurig will go in the RV. I did register my Keurig and buy most of my K-cups from Keurig. So the platinum will be half price with my points. I love that fact and when I get some more points built up I will probably buy the small one to take to the timeshare condo. I also like the wide varieties of flavors you can get with the K-cups. I like the hot chocolate, the chai latte, cappuccino, Breakfast teas, and the iced tea flavors. Mainly raspberry and sweetened. I do tend to add sugar or sweetener t them because they are not quite sweet enough for me. My husband only drinks coffee, the medium robust. I also use tea bags with mine, especially for the Earl Grey Victorian Black Tea that Celestial does not make in a K-cup anymore. I was very disappointed that they did that but that was not Keurig's fault. I also bought the My K-Cup with 2 extra filters so if one of us runs out of a tea or coffee, we can use grounds. I could probably rave about this all night but I guess I will stop now.
Pros: Easy to use, Durable, Fast, Multiple Settings, Wide Varieties Of K-cups
Cons: Limited Cup Sizes, Reservoir Not Large Enoug, Reservoir Hard To Clean
