Not Hot Enough

The main reason for purchasing the Keurig K65 model was the fact that it has an adjustable temperature. We have the Keurig Vue at my office and I love the multiple temperature settings. I was under the impression I would be able to set the water temperature on this model the same as the Vue. I was wrong. I put a lot of cream in my coffee, therefore, I need it to be extremely hot so when I am done adding cream, the coffee is still hot. With this Keurig, it is warm. Very disappointing. I won't purchase the Vue, because the local grocery store doesn't carry K-cups for this model. Very disappointed in my first in home Keurig.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Easy to use, Fast
Cons: Temp Is Not Hot

Not Reliable for long

Within 2 months of purchase the light under the 10 oz cup selection died. The settings for auto on/off worked intermittently. We contacted Keurig and were told to send it back in the original box with the original receipt. Unfortunately after two months we didn't have the box. We stopped using the settings for auto on/off and although the light was out it would still brew a 10 oz cup, most of the time. Recently the indicator to "de-scale" appeared. We followed the procedures in the booklet. Now it won't brew anything at all. Daily 2-3 cups are brewed, that's it. Now we have all these K-cups and no way to use them. It has lasted just a little over 5 years. Not worth the money. Certainly WILL NOT be buying another one. Certainly WILL NOT recommend.
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Going back to "the old fashion way"

I like coffee a lot. I especially like offering coffee to guests, and my initial interest in the Keurig came from a desire to offer my company a variety of coffee - everyone gets what they want. I loved being the "hostess-with-the-mostess." ... until 4 months later ... "Prime".... "prime" ... "prime"... after every cup I brewed. It became frustrating and now I hide my Keurig in shame and tell my friends and family... "sorry, back to regular coffee the old fashion way." It became too frustrating to explain to everyone, after you brew your cup of coffee, take the reservoir off, put it back on, then try again. Thankfully, customer service was helpful and polite. Not friendly, but polite. I had registered my Keurig and they sent me a new one after the old died. They actually sent me the wrong one - the Elite B40 - but I'm not going through the hassle of getting another B60. Hoping the B40 will at least last longer than 4 months before I have to get my next free Keurig.
We bought model B66 which has the same features as this model. After about 15 cups of coffee over a 2 week period the unit began to lock up in the "not ready" model after 1-2 cups on a single use. It has done it now for three straight uses. I have been able to "reset" it by unplugging it or turning it on and off. I checked some different web sites and this appears to be a manufacturing flaw involving more than just my model. Too bad, this product looked promising. I am afraid to exchange it for another, but probably will at least once...maybe I just got one from a "bad" batch made over in [...]
Pros: Easy to use, Stylish
Cons: Inconsistent Operation

I Own Two...One Good One Bad

I have two Keurig "Special Editions". The first I have had for over a year and its been great. No problems. So when I needed a second for my summer home I read reviews to see if I should get the same one. I was hesitant after reading some of the poor reviews. I eventually did purchase it though since mine has been great and I didn't know what model would have been a better choice. Within 1 month I started having the "priming issue". Its so annoying. I turn it on...after it warms up it usually says "prime". Then I have to take the resevoir off and put it back on 1 to 4 times usually and then it works for a cup or two and then does it again. Its also much nosier than my other. I have lugged it home and am now deciding whether its worth it to find the serial number to register it (I bought it on this website and was hoping it automatically registered...no such luck!) and pay to have it shipped back???? Do I have to call customer service and try their ideas first? I read many helpful comments on this site and have tried them. I just want it replaced or get my money back. I don't think I should have this issue after a month. I do have to say I have not contacted Keurig yet so I can't complain about their customer service. I do need to call and get this taken care of. Very frustrating....
Pros: Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Fast, Multiple Settings
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Fragile, Noisy

The Special Edition Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.
