I purchased my unit in May 2013, It is an excellent product!
It is a shame that it isn't advertised to the public, a product made in the USA that isn't available for purchase off of any show room floor!

Great Refrigerator

Bought this GE refrigerator when we moved our 20 year old GE to the garage. We've had it a week now and are extremely pleased with it. No problems with installation in our 36" opening (only need 1/8 inch clearance on each side). Ice and water dispenser work great, frig is extremely quiet, and holds freezer and regular refrigerator temps steady.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I LIKE THAT THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS ARE ON THE OUTSIDE AND YOU CAN CHECK THE INSIDE TEMPERATURE ALSO

We bought this last week and we really love our new side by side. It's roomy and things are very easy to reach. We can see everything and keep things organized. It runs quietly, makes a lot of ice cubes and it's nice to have water available in the door.

Yes this refrigerator does keep food cold and has a water and ice dispenser but it also has the most annoying loud low pitched whistle you have ever heard. The whistle never if ever stops. I am considering replacing the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought refrigerator about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Really like the size of shelving in the doors, the drawers inside, and, so far, the dependability of the ice maker and the size of the container for ice. (On a competitor's refrigerator, I was constantly having to deal with a jammed ice maker). Also, like ability to monitor temperatures of fridge and freezer from the door panel. Both sides maintain temperatures well.
