After dealing with a "lemon" HotSpot side by side for 7 short years,which basically had the same features as this new one.... I could not be happier.

Not the best refrigerator

I have had this refrigerator for about 7 months. There is only my husband and myself living in our home. From the beginning the refrigerator section stays wet inside. This includes the walls and food items. The drawers do not operate smoothly and do not close properly. The freezer section does not keep frost off the walls, icemaker, etc. I have been told repeatedly by GE there is nothing wrong and it is functioning properly. The plug for the water filter (if you do not use the filtered water option) does not work. An orange liquid runs down the back wall, is hard to clean off and keeps coming back. I purchased this refrigerator for the size and the fact it had the metal brackets in the back to support the adjustable shelves. I do not trust the plastic supports on the side walls to hold up without cracking for an extended period of time. I have a lot of liquid weight in my frig and a previous refrigerator which had the metal brackets for the shelves supported the weight with no problem. I have a freezer with plastic supports for a pull out basket and they failed. GE addressed all my complaints in a timely manner, sent out a technician several times and replaced a cacked drawer. I just feel this refrigerator could be a lot better. I wanted a simple refrigator that would be spacious, easy to clean and maintain. I have never owned a refrigerator that stays so damp inside and I am close to 60 yrs. old. The refrigerator is attractive and the design and size is what I wanted. I chose this particular one specifically for the metal brackets that supported the shelves. I don't know what part energy saving regulations played in the operating design, but this could have been an awesome frig.

Very happy with this refrigerator. It is roomy and organized well inside. It is also solid, is not cheaply made at all even though the price was good.

Great refrigerator overall except for ice maker.

The unit has performed well overall. It is well designed and has lots of space. The ice maker has been a problem. It started making an unusual noise and wouldn't dump the ice cube. It had apparently frozen up within the first week. A technician solved the problem, we thought, but approximately 8 month later the same noise began and the ice production quit again.. This time the little "fingers" that push the ice out of the unit had become bent. The ice maker was replaced. It made ice but then it wouldn't come out of the door. Another technician replaced it again. It seems to be working now, but we will keep our fingers crossed. Besides the ice maker this refrigerator has met my expectations.

I owned a similar style refrigerator with no problems which I owned for 14 years. I would truly recommend this product to all my friends and family.Best of all the price is affordable for those on a tight budget.
