Great for pet hair. The new Aero Bin & filter are a must. Keeps the hair off the brushes better than the old bin.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Large Debris Bin, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Frequent Maintenance, Noisy

Clean Brushes message solved

I have a golden retriever, so pet hair is key. After about 6 uses (with daily cleaning of unit) my brush case closed with difficulty and I kept getting the "clean roller" message. I followed the instructions on daily cleaning. I didn't know that in addition to the yellow rings on the brush roller, you must also remove the yellow "nut" on the end and even the metal nut under that. I find lots of hair winds around this, so I clean it daily, too. Now I have no problems. I think it could have been more clear on the instructions.

We got Betsy at a large retail store back in November 2010. I was talked into getting Betsy by my partner, I was a BIG skeptic. I complained about how it was hard to clean and other stuff, but ultimately found it not to be any different than a regular vacuum. With several MAJOR exceptions; it went under the furniture, it cleaned on its own while I did other things, and it really wasn't all that hard to keep clean. We have one dog and two cats, and both found it very hard to keep up with cleaning the floors after them. Betsy has changed all that for the better. It could be slightly a smaller diameter, however, to fit between the legs of my dinning room chairs. We did find it hard to clean the brushes and gear box, so we went out and bought special tools to get into the small places to get all the pet hair out. Even though it is a great product I think it could be made a little more affordable. That being said, we are looking into buying another iRobot to have one on each level in our bi-level house. Now, if they could make one that did the stairs too, I would be able to relax even more!

It takes a dreadfully long time to find its charging station once you push the "Dock" button. Otherwise, it's great. It doesn't clog, but does get stuck. It senses furniture and will slow down until it hits it and will then turn. It's a great product and it's as simple as pressing the "Clean" button to have a fresh home.

I like to use this in between vacuuming since we have three pets. It can be a stand alone vacuum too when I am in a pinch.

Disappointed second time around

This is my second Roomba, and I was probably the best spokesman for this product. I've lost my love for it. My new roomba, gets clogged fast on the rubber strip, loses a charge fast, doesn't pick up dirt on my hardwood floors, and when it is going into a carpeted area, leaves large amounts of debris behind. I'm totally disappointed in this one!~

Had the Discovery model since 2007. Had to change the battery last year after many hours of tireless service. It still has many many hours left in it. But could not pass a great deal on the 530, so went in for it. And its even better. The 530 is quieter, and seems to be even more smarter with its patterns. Also, when it comes close to a wall, it slows down so that it doesnt bang into it as hard as the Discovery used to. I think the counter-rotating brushes is a new feature. The 530 is also lighter than the Discovery model. I am pleased. Super pleased!

We have to keep replacing batteries on our series 400. Purchased new charger, changed programs battery life is still a problem.
