Great little robot!

It picks up a lot of dirt! Everytime I empty the bin I'm amazed at the amount of fuzz my carpet gives out. It also keeps the dog hair off our dark hardwood floor. I wish I would have know about the higher models with the scheduler before buying a 530 model. I would have probably gotten one of those instead.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Fun Too Watch, Pet Friendly
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Does Not Clean Stairs

I purchased my Roomba 530 on October 31st and have been satisfied with it's cleaning ability on my hardwood floors. It picks up a lot more than people would think, as far as dust and pet hair. One problem is that today it broke two of it's side brushes and collected them in the dust bin? Inexplicably? It also has a tendency to get stuck on floor registers. Otherwise, I love the hassle free cleaning. and it's self recharging.

This is the most amazing product. I always wanted one, but could not believe that it would work very well, but boy does it clean! I compare it to a dishwasher, you can clean without it, but why would you? This little robot cleans so big. We have 2 Golden Retrievers and our house has never been so clean. I love the fact that it cleans under the bed, the area no one evers vacuums, but should. Now that area is cleaned daily! My only complaint is that the little side brush has lost several arms in a short time. I think the rubber just weakens quickly, cuz they all came off within a few days of each other. With the pets I do need to clean the bin and brush heads after each use. I too do not care for the brush cleaner, does not work real well. I use a fine toothed comb to clean the brushes and tweezers and canned air for cleaning bin and sides of the rubber roller and brushes. I consider all of this a minor inconvienence to be able to clean my house and run errands at the same time. The coolest thing is that when it gets stuck under something, like under a kitchen chair, it figures out how to get out! How amazing is that! Best appliance I have bought in years!

The robot really works as advertised - I have tile, slate, linoleum and carpet all in the same area, and my 530 really does well on all of them. I have a very dusty house, and it's virtually impossible for me to keep on top of all of it. My biggest complaint is that the side brushes broke within a month of purchasing it[...]! Despite that and the fact it works so well that I need to empty my debris bin practically every time I use it, I would say it was worth every penny of the purchase price.Order replacement brushes when you buy it, and you'll be happy.

Birt picks up Dirt!!

This thing is amazing.. not much else to say. When I saw it was [...] I was a bit unsure if it could handle the pet hair from 5 cats and 1 dog which are mostly long hair. I decided to make the jump and buy it. It was a great choice and works wonders with all the pet hair. It does need cleaned a lot because of all the pet hair but it saves so much time to just press clean and walk away. I have recommend this to all of my friends and family, and of course I recommend it to you. If I had more areas of laminate I would buy a Scooba with no questions.

FANTASTIC New Roomba!!!

I've been a Roomba owner for several years now. The Discovery series I've owned before has done a better than average job on my floors and with the pet hair from my 2 cats, and it's saved me a lot of time. When Rosie gave up the (cybernetic) ghost, I decided it was time to upgrade to the 500 series, so I got the 530 as I didn't need the scheduling features and my rooms are relatively small. I was a bit impressed at the quiet noise from these models, and the computerized voice telling my what's wrong (like "clean the brushes") instead of a generic beep. I was amazed that I could hear the television while Ash is running around the living room floor. Better yet, the new brush design is SO much easier to clean than the older series: a real boon to those of us with pets! I have to say, the Discovery series was good, but the 500 series is OUTSTANDING! I LOVE ROBOTS! I was so impressed I stopped procrastinating and bought a Scooba to add to the family as well!

I love my Roomba!

I have a golden retriever and 2 cats and couldn't keep up with vacumming on a daily basis. My Roomba cleans up the pet hair and kitty litter on a daily basis. I coudn't be happier. It travels completely around my 1600 sq foot house. I usually have to empty and clean the rollers once, but that's a whole lot less time consuming than trying to vacumn my whole house myself! I sing the praises of Roomba to everyone I know.
