Good maintenance cleaning incl. cheerios

The Roomba 530 has works out great for regular maintenance PLUS gets under furniture missed using the regular vacuum. It doesn't get to every single crumb, but does cover 98% which is way better than me only getting to vacuum once a week. I was impresses that it picks up cheerios and even a penny. Sometimes it takes a couple passes to pick up debris I would expect it to suck up first pass, but it will get it eventually. Just empty the canister before you set it free, make sure the floor is unobstructed, and it works great!

Does the job-doesn't like dogs

We have had the 530 for a couple of weeks now and are mostly happy with it. When we got it, we purposefully gave it a tough set of conditions. We did not vacuum for some time before getting it, certainly not under furniture. We did not pick up anything off the floor, nor did we arrange chairs etc. Despite all this, the Roomba found it's way through the mess and did it's job. We've got 1400 sq ft, about half open, the rest in separate rooms, all hardwood with area rubs (no problem with those). It found all the rooms, and eventually (over several runs) cleaned all the room. We had a LOT of dog hair under couches, beds, etc, and this at first clogged the brushes and jammed the brush bearings. But once we got it down to daily or 2 day maintenance, I've only had to clean the brushes once. It's not perfect, it doesn't often find it's way back to the docking station (off in a corner), but I'd give it 85% in terms of keeping the floors clean. It does make some noise, but oddly enough, my very hyper dog totally ignores it, other than a glare if the Roomba bumps him. Now if it could just clean the floors as well....

I love my Roomba, but I feel like it doesn't hit every spot in my great room. It definitely works better in smaller rooms.

Don't know why roomba is acting up.

I got Sonny as a gift in Oct. 2007. He worked wonders for about 2 months. I used to recommend him to friends and family mebers, but now Sonny makes me clean his brushes every 5 minutes-not an over estimate. The brushes are not even full or covered in hair and there is very little dirt in the bin. He is so stubborn. I do have a GSD with long hair and he does one of two things with the hair, he either picks it up or throws clumps of it around the front room. We live in an apt so every room except the kitchen and bathroom is carpet and the rooms are not that large, but sonny can no longer finish one without loosing a charge. He never returns to his base, and he gets stuck under everything he can fit under except the kitchen chairs which he has no trouble manuvering his way out. The first time we used him his side brushes kind of bent and so he doesn't do corners well. [...] We used to say how wonderful the apt looked after roomba was through now we can't even tell he's done anything at all. Maybe we just got a dud, but I don't think Sonny should be having so many issues after only 3 & 1/2 months. He used to do so well. I would probably still recomend him to someone who doesn't have any carpeting in there house. Maybe he just can't handle an almost all carpet apt. I don't know. Currently I am just so unhappy with Rooba's performance.

A huge improvement on the 400 series!

WOW! iRobot really listened to its customers when designing this new Roomba. The issues with earlier models have been solved. The level profile means that Roomba no longer gets stuck under my kitchen cabinets. The re-shaped brush with removable end caps is so much easier to clean. The multi-arm side brush does a great job on edges and corners. The robot is faster, but the new wall sensor which slows the robot down really reduces the impact against walls and furniture.

I can't help but using the word amazing in the videos I've attached (I've got to think of a few more synonyms) but I am more than impressed with this little machines cleaning ability and how it navigates under furniture, around legs and transitions seamlessly from carpet to tile. Not only did it clean just about every nook and cranny, but when it was done, it returned itself to the home base charger and plays a few pleasant notes when it was done. How cool is that? You've got to see it to believe it! I already had high expectations but this is exceeding what I thought a little vacuum could do. It picks up dirt, leaves and that fluff from inside pet toys with ease as well as pet hair. My dog has not yet warmed up to it as he already barks at it and then jumps on the chair. Too funny. Odd thing is he has never been bothered by that manual, antiquated vacuum, but maybe it is because I was pushing it as opposed to an autonomous, advanced Roomba Vacuum. I've attached a couple of before and after photos and have a few videos I took, but didn't know how to upload them.

great for everyday pick up

use it almost everyday and does a great job picking up all dog hair, crumbs and makes carpet look cleaner. My only regret is I didn't get one that scheduled, and that it would get closer to corners. I have 2 one upstairs and one downstairs. You still need to use a good vacuum now and then but not all the time. Great for days when you want to be lazy.

The best product to eliminate work .

I have a bad back and this is the most wonderful help that I could have found for keeping my house clean. I feel that my house is cleaner since Roomba goes under sofa, chairs, dressers and chest. This is the best purchase that I have ever made for myself.
