Great time saver

We have two dogs and three cats and a large house - even with daily vacuuming - there was always puffs of animal hair floating around!! The roomba is so effective at picking up the hair - no more huge dust bunnies. Due to the volume of hair, I clean the brushes after each use (tweezers). (The brush cleaning tool not that effective. I'd rather have additional side brushes than this cleaning tool.) It takes much less time to clean these brushes than it would to vacuum - so I don't see this as an detraction to the product Have been perplexed by some warning sounds/lights - there is a "little roomba" that sometimes lights up but cannot find any reference to what HE is telling me. Had a charging issue - the main light flashed red - it took a while of searching the website and the forum to figure out it was a problem with the battery. I took another users recommendation and cleaned out the battery compartment with compressed air (I.e. keyboard cleaner). Due to the volume of dirt the animals track in - I expect this will be a regular maintenance task that I do not see as a problem. However, it is an issue that it took a long time of research to find the solution! The help section on their website needs some attention. The side brush has lost most of it's arms -whether it's a design flaw (the brush is long enough to get caught under the wheel) or it's a manufacturing issue - I along with other owners are scheduled to receive replacement brushes (currently backordered). Couple of suggestions - it would be nice if there was a way to have roomba replay a warning beep with a simple touch of a button. Also, the sleek lighthouses design may prove difficult to handle for someone who has dexterity problems. Add a fold down handle or a gripe impression? All in all, I am happy with my purchase because my house is clean and I have more time to do other things. In fact, today I ordered two additional roomba's, a 416 and a scooba for my husband's shop.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Pet Friendly
Cons: Bad Setup Instructions, Side brushes defective

This Roomba's freakin amazing! it is the best vaccum i ever had! even better than my dyson! i've been researching quite a lot on this irobot roomba and i must say, it is an amazing robot. I let it run in my room and left the house. and when i came back the robot had cleaned everything my dyson vaccum had missed. I have inspected all its jobs to date and not one of them had any left overs. Even my corners were cleaned. I vote this product an A+++++ for the quality and excitement it brings to cleaning. Keep up the good work Irobot. P.S I wonder if irobot will be making a robot that cleans stairs?
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin, Lays Down the law on Dirt, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly
Cons: Does Not Clean Stairs

I just got the 530 2 days. I ordered the 570 today. There's a reason why a majority of owners have more than one; it's that good. 530 can get stuck, it tried to chew my drapes and choked. I caught it this morning halfway over the stairs. Idiot! It behaves like a 10 year old, it needs moderate supervision. But it does clean fairly well. I usually lock it in a room and go do something else. When I come back, the room is clean. On to the next room. It's a bit noisy and bumps obstacles pretty hard but that's a small price to pay to get someone to do your dirty work.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Loud Operation

Excellent Christmas gift! I have been dying for a Roomba for some time and the 530 is the perfect match! I was very worried about my two cats, bc one tends to be skittish, but they get along great with Rosie. They chase her like she is another cat. Honestly, bc of the cat hair I clean her bin and brushes after each use just to make sure there isn't a problem, but it probably isn't necessary. She only has been stuck once and that was bc of cords. If you have them on the floor just move them and she is fine. Relatively quiet and certainly dummy proof! When we move to a larger place I will put one on each floor!
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Covers Entire Room, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly

In the past 4 years we've had 2 Roomba's. They are terrific when they work. They seem to stop working just as the warranty expires which is not surprising. After no problems at all, it decides to move only in circles and slightly backwards. It just decides to stop working. We clean it after every use and made sure to maintain them. Unfortunately, after trying to work with customer service and warranty expired, it ends up being thrown away. If they could rectify what seems to be a repetitive problem, the Roomba would be terrific. Unfortunately, for the cost it does not last long.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room
Cons: Frequent Maintenance, Loses Charge Quickly

My husband and I are very dissapointed in our new 530 robot. We purchased our original 530 two and a half years ago and loved it. We thought it would be great to have two of them so purchased a new one a month ago. The robot has been downgraded as far as materials. The robot itself works well - although they have eliminted the handle which made it easy to pick up. The big problem is the loading dock which is too lightweight. It does not hold still and the robot has a terrible time trying to dock itself. We usually have to help. The original robot had a very sturdy loading dock as well as virtual walls. There was never any problem with docking. This new product is light weight plastic - very flimsy. We have tried all the suggestions from customer service - they are very nice and try to be helpful. We keep the robot very clean and have tried to secure the loading dock in various ways. Nothing works well. We are very dissapointed since we loved the original so much! Please go back to using the excellent materials you originally used for the loading dock and virtual walls.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Does a good cleaning job
Cons: Does not dock well, Loading dock is too light

It was the best thing on earth the first 6 months, then it started to fail. Hardly any battery power, doesn't suck the dirt up, or it deposits it 2 feet later. Seems to get stuck in 1 area and doesn't go anywhere else. At first I recommended it to everyone - not anymore. Called the company and emailed about 6 times, BEFORE the warranty was up, and all they did was tell me how to clean the brushes and change the filters. DUH. I changed the filter every 3 months, and cleaned bin and brushes after every use.
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Frequent Maintenance, Loses Charge Quickly

I love my Rosie! I had a first generation model that lasted about 3 1/2 years and wore it out. I got a new 530 and still love it. I really like the edge cleaning brush. I want the Scuba next. I have lots of birds and they get lots of seed on the floor. Rosie does a great job of cleaning up. I did a test one time by vacuuming with my regular vacuum first then set Rosie out to see if she would pick up anything else. When I opened up the collection bin it looked like I didn't even vacuum. Yes it can get stuck. If you have cabinets or a dresser or something that is a little closer to the ground it can wedge itself under trying to clean, but will beep and shut itself off if it can't get out. It's quiet, my dogs don't mind it and I like that I can multi-task while my floors are being vacuumed. This is a wonderful invention, will always have one as long as they are made. Anyone that sees mine and asks me about it; it's funny because I talk worlds about it like I was a sales rep. Kudos to iRobot!
