Long term 530 owner, with pets & asthma

I am not tidy, but with Roomba, no more messing around; if I want Roomba to work, I can't leave any thing laying around. I used it daily for years with my two last cats. Man, I was in love from the first day! When I got my Lab the hair just totalled the Roomba; or so I thought. After all those years I finally had to buy a new battery! It will be here Monday. I miss my Roomba! The 530 is no fuss and nothing fancy. I push the button and it cleans. Everywhere. The dog is terrified of my Kirby, but only mildly suspicious of the Roomba. Did I mention that I LOVE my Roomba!
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Limits pet dander, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly, Quiet
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Freq emptying with pets, Not for corigated rugs

In Love!

Roomba is my new best friend! My girls & I decided Roomba is a she. It's like having a buddy cleaning with you. I do dishes while she cleans the floors. I love that Roomba fits under my hutch & couches (whee everything gets lost). If I recline the recliner, she will get under that chair as well. She picks up pine needles. She even picked up a water bottle lid. The best part of Roomba is what she doesn't do. She does not eat or get stuck on the fringe trim to our kaleem (sp?). When I press the dock" button, Roomba needs to be in the same room as the docking station or she gets lost. It really is like having a pet. I am cracking myself up at the joy a vac has brought to me & my household.

Can't live without my Roomba!!!!

As a crazy busy mom, business owner, and pet owner I had been dying to own a Roomba for YEARS. Finally my husband braved [...] at Christmas time to get me one. I LOVE MY ROOMBA! I hit clean and leave for work, I come home and it has done it's thing and is charging. Next time I will get the Pet version because I do have to empty the bin often, the nice thing is it tells me if there is an issue and what it is. I just clean the brushes and bin in the evening and it's ready to go in the morning. It doesn't make my house spotless but it does make having 4 great danes, 2 kids, a husband and a cat easy. I'm going to buy a 2nd one for upstairs next. THANK YOU!!

I wish the designers could make the side sweeping brush more durable, I have been forced to make my own, since parts are not readily available here

I have just purchased my irobot 530 and so far so good no problems yet its nice to come home to a clean floor and not have to do anything except turn on a button thanks irobot for giving me a wonderfull item of household appliance

I fire Moe off when I leave for the morning and, most days, he's back in his dock and the floors are clean when I get home. The difference in our all hardware home is remarkable. He does have a problem with a black run that we have, he thinks he's falling or something, I waited for years to buy one, I'm buying one for each floor now. I only wish I had bought the scheduled version and that he had a larger collection bin,

Better than doing it myself

I have had my Roomba for a few months now. Bought it second-hand. There's a lot of household gadgets on the market that don't actually reduce your housework, but this gadget does. It gets the carpet and floors cleaner than my old vacuum cleaner, and I don't have to push it around. I really like it. My routine is to hit the clean button every day before I leave the house to go to work.SOME POSITIVES:I have a 35-year-old rug in a high-traffic area of the house. You can imagine how flat the pile is after all those years and all those feet. Since I started using this vacuum cleaner, the pile has been noticeably lifting. The vacuum cleaner has just one big button, that helpfully says "clean!". Nice and simple.It hardly ever gets stuck. It seems to cope with most things.In order to please the vacuum cleaner, I am a lot better at picking up stuff off the floor than I was before I bought it. It is also the only vacuum-cleaner I've owned which I've anthropomorphised.I like the nerd-factor of owning a vacuum-cleaning robot. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.The dust level is reduced over time, meaning less dusting is required.The cat isn't bothered by it.It does along the skirting very well.SOME NEGATIVES:It takes a long time. You can't vacuum quickly 10 minutes before the visitors arrive.It isn't that good at finding its way back to the docking station when you are doing a few rooms at a time.It isn't low enough to do under the piano/fridge/oven and can't reach well into corners.If you spill a bag of rice on the floor and then set the Roomba on it, it will fire the rice all over the room.It doesn't like the carpet in the back of my van. Too dark.SUGGESTIONS FOR THE FUTURE:Roomba babies. I would like a miniature roomba for my office desk. One suitable for cars would also be good. And tiny ones for shelves and windowsills around the house.[...] I'm quite keen on getting a scooba and/or dirt dog.

I just love it, but, the only thing not so good is that bristle brush needs replacement very often (left side rectangle connector wearing out very fast, even though it's made from a hard plastic, but the size is just a bit shorter then needed). My solution for that - drill a hole on the side and place a hardwood replacement instead :)
