much better than older model

Works lots better than an older model I had. No longer gets stuck and cuts long fibers (dog hair) to easy to deal with lengths. Think it also runs longer and is reliable about returning to the charging base. Love it!

It cleans under my china hutch which I hadn't done in years along with everything else.My Roomba has to go from carpet to hardwood to ceramic and also handle area rugs with fringe.Handles it all with ease.

Even Better Than My Previous Roomba

When my first Roomba (Carmen Miroomba), died after several years of faithful service, I was grief-stricken. [...] read the reviews, and purchased the 530. WOW!!! I loved my previous generation Roomba, but it did have some annoyances - noise level, brush cleaning, difficulty with cords, shorter battery life... The 500 series has improved all of these and more. Well worth it! It's like the people at I-Robot read my mind! Also, since its so much quieter, Asta doesn't scare my cats, Nikki and Nora. It's so wonderful to see a product that actually is IMPROVED in its new version, and not made more cheaply. Also love the see-through dust bin and easier maintenance. Thanks, IRobot!

Beware of Battery Life

Works well in carpeted rooms and gets under furntiture. Owned it for one and a half years. [@] would not replace battery under their [@] 100% parts and labor plan. This cleaner was used less than once a week. Cleaning of rollers can be time consuming. Our model is a 536--maybe the newer models are better. Good for handicapped users but anyone else should consider a lightweight vacuum

Put your feet up and let it go to work

I live in a 650 sq ft apartment and Roomba does a great job cleaning up after my partner and I and our pet rabbit. We use it often so it can generally do one large room and 2 small ones before it needs to recharge. Sometimes I wish it could go a bit longer but still does a great job on one charge. Yes you do need to pick up any loose articles of clothing, cables and cords and we have one chair with a circular wire frame that needs to be taken out of the room or Roomba will get stuck on it. A short amount of prep work in comparison to a regular vacuum! I can prep a room for Roomba in less time than it would take to set up a central vac. Very good suction too for such a small and quiet machine, this thing can pick up large coins like Loonies no problem.

We are older, and not really amoured with house work. We always thought the house was clean. Now with our pet Roomba the house is super clean. No dust alergies now. When we leave the house, we turn it on, come home later, clean the robot and put it back on the charger. I think I better buy some shares in your company.

Short life span

This is a great vacuum. I lasted just past the warranty period. irobot wouldnt even consider making repairs, but used this opportunity to sell a new chassis for $100. Still beats a regular vac but horribly expensive to own. I would only recommend this to rich friends.

My 6th iRobot

Please bring back the 400 series: I don't need all the bells and whistles, just an iRobot that cleans (with a handle). The new ones are getting too espensive for me !
