Lid mechanism failed

The lid got stuck and would not close. The rubber sealer came out from its groove and could stretch back in place, causing the lid to stay half open. This caused a hard time feeling the water, but more importantly, the kettle would no longer shut off automatically. I have had the kettle for two years and enjoyed it until, out of the blue, it failed. I love Bervill products, and I recently bought a traffic compact microwave.

Almost perfect, but WAY too big for small households for daily use. I mean 7 cups? Honestly? If Breville made a 5 cup version, that would be ideal for most.

Higher End Kettle! Did not last

Bought this because of the Breville name thinking it was better quality and would last longer than a couple of years, especially given the higher price. Just stopped working. Power base is fine but jug not powering up. So much for the extra quality and longevity.

I've bought this for just 1 and a half year. The water started leaking from the handle. It is very dangerous to continue using. Compare to other kettle with cheaper price, those cheaper one last so much longer. Not a good choice to buy!!

Expensive junk

Kettle is interesting to look at but is constructed cheaply. At almost 3 years old the automatic shutoff is failing & the lid hinge is broken. It is obviously built on the cheap and marked up to what the market will bear in price.
Stay away it is extremely poor value for the dollar.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Insanely fast heating. Elegant buttonless design. Bit bulky.

Honestly, this is a great kettle. Cleaner design than the button versions (honestly, you don’t need buttons on a kettle). Only gripe is the footprint is quite large, and I never find myself heating 7 cups at once (2-4 more common). Overall, highly recommended.
