Looks great but the switch broke in 3 weeks

I loved the look of this glass kettle, and the water boiled quickly. However, after about 3 weeks, the on/off switch would not go on, it was broken :-( I returned the item for a refund.

Very Happy with Crystal Clear

I bought my Chrystal Clear kettle after inspecting all the kettles on display in a store. I decided not to buy online as there were reviews of other kettles that were too heavy, or not made of expected material, a plastic chrome coloured handle, not metal. It took ages summing up the features, colour, weight, the look until I found the Chrystal Clear under the counter! Clear marking of minimum, maximum, number of cups; not too heavy; easy switch on with indicator light; automatic turn off safety feature if switched on with no water; automatic turn off when boiling; attractive lid with glass circular panel; attractive overall with chrome, glass and gray. The kettle boils quickly and the spout pours well. Everthing I want in a kettle. Only negative comment, it is a bit tall to place on the sink divide without a bit of a tilt, but you get used to that. Very pleased with my purchase.

Delighted ... until lid opening mechanism failed

This electric kettle was life-changing and I was delighted with it in every respect, until the lid-opening mechanism failed. The release button still works, but the lid doesn't rise on its own; I have to manually lift it to fill the kettle. I tried cleaning the hinge, thinking it might be hard-water deposits that were preventing the action, but it didn't help. If I release the latch and turn the kettle upside down, it does open (with gravity assist), so I'm thinking the spring may have weakened over time.
Not a huge deal, but a little disappointing since Breville products are priced at a premium over other brands.
I've had it for about four years, so maybe I'm expecting too much?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love it, but the plastic piece connecting the lid to the kettle broke 😞

Love this kettle so much. I make tea often, and it’s such a pretty kettle that’s quick to heat up water. Unfortunately the plastic part connecting the lid to the kettle broke (I’m very gentle as I adore this kettle), and now the lid won’t pop up as it’s supposed to. Overall would recommend the product, but beware. There isn’t a replacement part so I’m stuck. May have to find another company for my next kettle purchase.

Bad zeal

I absolutely loved my tea kettle until the lip seal around the glass started to lift. It’s near impossible to put back and just flairs out.

Used twice & now stopped working, one week old

Hi, I bought my crystal clear kettle last week. Used it twice and now it's not working. I turn on the boil button but it no longer lights up, does nothing. It just stopped mid-heating today, have more than min water level in it. Please advise

Great kettle - poor lid design - gets stuck

I loved the style of the kettle - the glass is elegant and it's nice to be able to see how much water is in the kettle. However, the lid design is poor as it is held by two plastic pins that are rather flimsy - on ours, the pins failed and the lid became stuck and it won't open unless pried open manually. Breville should address this critical design flaw in an otherwise classy kettle. As is, I would not recommend.
