Excellent TV, Great picture

I love this TV, I use it with an hdmi laptop and also control it with an Android tablet. We do not use the smart functions very often because we have a wireless keyboard and mouse with laptop.
The smart apps are very good and work very well. We do have it hooked up on our WiFi network. I have the sound output to via a toslink optical cable to my surround system. The sound is awesome.

Great product with one major issue

TV is amazing, picture quality is excellent and setting up is very easy. The only issue I have is, the wi-fi seems to be very slow. It takes so much time to load pages and watch anything that I stopped using the wi-fi feature almost completely. If you are alright with it, this is an amazing TV

Excellent Value & Solid Choice

I spent weeks reading reviews and visiting retailers on the weekend before making my choice. This 60" Smart Plasma TV won hands down.
I also purchased the BH6830SW HTS and together they are perfect for my townhouse environment. The TV has all the features you need and want and with the LG HTS. I have an excellent home theater environment after downsizing from a large home.
There is nothing about this TV that isn't positive, excellent picture, easy to setup and use, everything you would expect from a high quality plasma big screen.
I have it wall mounted and the slim design keeps it from protruding from the wall like so many wall mounted big screens do.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, big bang for the buck!

Awesome plasma picture and great value

The picture is simply stunning and is almost as good as OLED and better that LED 4k when it comes to real world watching bluray or gaming. When watching fast action shows or sports, there is no picture smoothness issues, black level or other off axis distortions like you get with LED. The main disadvantage of plasma over LED is that plasma uses a little bit more power the LED. The plasma/LED power cost difference comes out to be a few tall latte more per year.
The wifi SMART TV feature was easy to setup but difficult to use with the standard remote. This HDTV should have come with the LG Magic Remote for easier internet use.
LG gets 4 stars since they left out the headphone and RCA analog outputs so that you can't easily hook up a non-digital input audio system or your headphones directly. It does have ARC for those who are using HDMI soundbars. Needs an aftermarket D/A converter to use wireless headphones.
The sound is about average FM radio quality like all new slim TVs these days. My 10 year old 42 inch plasma has much better sound quality and volume than this TV and other newer ones.
About the stand, it's plastic and delicate to setup. The TV will wobble if touched so highly recommend wall mounting. Metal reinforced stands are now gone to increase profit margins as my guess.
Buy this TV for its awesome picture quality and maybe SMART TV features but don't expect much for its sound quality or stand. Buyer beware.

Good TV for the money

We were looking for an "inexpensive" plasma TV for the living room. We like LG products and PC Richard had this one on sale. We like the picture and the Smart TV features and it works well with our wi-fi.

Wonderful Plasma TV

I have owned this TV now for about 2 months and I must say its a joy to have and watch. Even without a sound bar system the onboard speakers are adequate for most applications. My only complaint is the mutually exclusive sound output. You cannot have both the TV or external speakers be active at the same time. You have to select either one independently. So when you want to use your home theater system you will have to navigate in your TV menu to activate the proper output. Other than this issue the TV meets my demanding need for quality of picture. There are ample settings on this TV to make any tinker fanatic at home with themselves. I have no issues with reflection even though I have two large windows in the same viewing area. If you want a really nice plasma for the money hurry and get one because once they are gone...they are gone for good. Manufacturers are going to stop building them due to lack of demand for quality systems.

Reviews rated this as one of the top plasma TVs. Second only to Panasonic. But for the price this was a better value for me. So glad I went plasma over LED. LED picture loses quality if you aren't straight on the tv. Not an issue with the plasma. Picture always looks good.
Only negatives are the ones with most TVs. The speaker isn't impressive so I needed to get a component to get high quality sound. But these days I expect that and am buying the TV for picture quality.

Solid Plasma TV

First time with a smart TV. Don't really need or use all apps. Had to have another plasma. Wish they made it in a 55" model. I would get the 60" model if I could do it over again. The 50" is not that much different than the 42" I had before.
Great picture. Don't really like having to constantly find the right picture size option for different programs. Some programs never display quite true to size, dimensionally.
Would buy another LG in an instant.
