I had this put in our new home as a last minute addition never owning a trash compactor before. This one is easy to use, attractive and quiet. We now take out the trash once a week and there is no smell, even on day 7. I even empty my other trash can in it. I am so happy I made the decision to buy this and would recommend to anyone.

Professionally installed 2/28/2014. Motor broken on 3/3/2014. When opening door, it shifts to the right bumping top right hand corner against cabinet door. Installer indicated that the trash compactor was defective.
Cons: motor broken after 3 days of use, door shifts to the right when pulled out

I had this installed along with my other stainless steel appliances; I love it, It is streamlined and the stainless steel elevates it far above a 'trash container! Compacts the trash very effectively, and has a slot for an air freshner that works great!

We purchased this compactor to replace a previous unit. Service had to be done within two weeks as a retaining pin in the foot button had fallen out as it had no retainer. This unit has a door release at the bottom made of plastic. When the door is closed the plastic bar makes a rattle which indicates how cheaply it is built. There is no way a designer for this product did not hear the sound but obviously did not care.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the sleek look, but can't believe I spent this much money on a piece of junk. The latch will not stay down, the front feels like it is loose & will fall off. the peddle that starts the packing process comes off due to the pin not staying in hole. control does not work properly. When not on pack it makes a horrible noise when finishing a squash.
