[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Professionally installed 2/28/2014. Motor broken on 3/3/2014. When opening door, it shifts to the right bumping top right hand corner against cabinet door. Installer indicated that the trash compactor was defective.
Cons: door shifts to the right when pulled out, motor broken after 3 days of use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the sleek look, but can't believe I spent this much money on a piece of junk. The latch will not stay down, the front feels like it is loose & will fall off. the peddle that starts the packing process comes off due to the pin not staying in hole. control does not work properly. When not on pack it makes a horrible noise when finishing a squash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this trash compactor a month ago as our 12 year old Kitchenaid Superba model was worn out and needed replacing. We were dissappointed that the Superba is no longer available as it was an incredible trash compacor and we loved the external controls. We purchased the Architect Series trash compactor and are pleased with the power and appearance. We find that the door/trash container does not seem as heavy duty as our previous one. We love our Kitchenaid appliances,(Micro-Oven combo.,stovetop, dishwasher and trash compactor, mixer)and plan to continue using your products.

Great compacting!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I looked long and hard for a compactor that had the "overnight" feature of compacting, leaving the ram extended for a period of time. This unit matches that need and provides outstanding compacting. Three weeks' trash before emptying. The door has more "wobble" than other compactors we have had ... not happy with that, as it may bruise the new cabinet beside it. We may avoid this by pulling the compactor forward in its niche.

TOO NARROW. HATE THE FOOT PEDAL

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought I'd like the pedal feature, but if I'm barefooted (usually), it hurts my toe everytime I mash it (after groping around for the pedal). Also, it is so narrow, that I'm constantly having to pick up trash from around it. I guess I'm not a good aim, but it shouldn't be so narrow. Overall, I wish I'd purchased something else.
